Melt the adhesive that holds the lens to the reflector.

Also, I've heard of people painting the back of the cutoff shield for a sharper cutoff. Is this worth the time? Doesn't look like it would be too hard to take it apart. Any other worthwhile mods I should look into before I put them back together?

Is it a bad idea to try and power up my hid's with an 18v battery? It's the only battery I have.. no 12v and I need to check my cutoff

Didn't even think about that haha. Will do. I need to find a 9v to test the solenoid now..

TRS recommends a 9v for testing it... what about my 18v drill battery? lol seriously though

So I'm entertaining the idea of flush mounting the xb led's and don't know what to do with the tab for the leads. It would be nice if I could move the solder points to the back of the ring and trim the tab off but I don't think that will work. Every write up I've found doesn't show this. Anybody know of any good pictures of write ups that might help?

Don't use the 18. Although the Ballasts are probably rated for 9-18..wouldn't do it.

I can try bending it but this is the tightest that I can bend wires back on themselves so it would have to be one hell of a slot.

Yeah, just going to bring the battery from my truck in the apt.

maybe get some heat shrink tubing and run them on the bottom of the shroud. wouldn't look as clean as inside the shroud but better than seeing white and red wires

Heat shrink is a good idea. The pair of shrouds is only $15 so I got the dremel out.. I was going to cut the ridge off and flush mount them but I saw if I left the ridge and notched it I could run the wires back under the ring. Prolly get some black heat shrink and call it a day. Wont even notice if I black everything out too so I may go ahead and do that.

Everything is looking good! Got mine today too, pumped to get everything together! What should I buy besides some JB weld and black paint for the BHLM? I paid extra for the re-sealer so I should already have that as well. Anything else I'm missing?

Not that I can think of. The kit is pretty complete! Did you get halos too? Have you started on them? I just need to pick up some jb weld for the halos but besides that everything is ready to go back together!

I ordered halos but it was 2 days after ordering the kit. I was gonna go without halos but then after seeing more and more pics of retros w/ halos, I had to have them. So hopefully they will be here soon! I want to put everything together now! I have my eBay headlights on the truck and my OEM headlights are in the house. So I'll probably disassemble those and get everything ready for the halos. Once I'm ready to seal everything back together I'm gonna use the lenses off the eBay head lights since they look brand new and are so clear, but I'll keep the OEM housing. The original lenses are so cloudy and oxidized they're useless.
