I hope so! After my initial response about my Gerber, no one else seemed to agree so I figured I like my Gerber so if there are even better options, figured I couldn't go wrong. The Gerber is getting ready to get replaced anyways :)

that looks nice!! for less than $40 is insane. i like it.

i am not the best at sharpening a blade. even worse if it is a tanto tipped blade. i have one tanto. a cold steel. i hate that thing..i just cant do that tip.

X2. Everyone is saying bemchmade is too expensive to EDC, the Mini Griptilians are around $60 and it's the prefect EDC blade. Relatively cheap, lightweight, solid construction and built in the USA. Plus the access lock is amazing.

I found one of these on the ground, and currently use it for edc. My first Kershaw, but definitely not my last.

A mini griptillian for $60 is a great deal.
The axis lock really makes the knife sweet.
Or you could get a SRM 763 and it even has a bottle opener built into the back of the blade when it is closed.

And yes, opening and closing them is addictive, but drives the wife crazy.

Sigh. I joined TW and purchased a bunch of stuff for my truck. Then got on a different knife thread on TW a couple months ago and now I have 3 Kershaw knives for EDC and a growing collection of other knives for outdoors. I'm on another TW thread for e-cigarettes and that pounded my savings account for a few months. Buying all the stuff for the truck got me on the TW threads about tools and now I have a collection of tools I regularly use. Don't get me started about the firearms and reloading threads.

In many ways, I gotta thank this site. I'll probably retire a couple years later than planned because of my experiences here though...

Where do you see any mini-grips being sold for $60? The cheapest I've found it since I started this thread has been around $70 with some as high as $90.

I was almost going to pull the trigger on one of these, right now around $18 on ebay.

Yep, same thing has happened to me many times, it's amazing what you don't know you need until there's a thread about it and then you HAVE to have it or your world will explode.

My local walmart was a complete bust, it had a couple of really cheap bucks and exactly 1 kershaw, a blur with a tanto point. I really don't want a tanto blade, not as useful IMO and harder to sharpen. After spending literally HOURS reading reviews and looking at prices etc etc etc I've decided to go with a Kershaw Scallion. It's made in US, has the same Speedsafe assisted opening as the Blur but is a bit smaller and lighter than the blur. I havent' ordered it yet but will post picks once I get it.

My only question now is whether I should get an all black with black blade or a stainless steel with a frame lock. I've read a ton O shit and seems like some people have very strong opinions on frame locks vs liner locks. Do any of you have any negatives to say about liner locks?

It may use the same system, but I prefer the thumb open versus the finger.

Never had an issue with the all black. Lasts long long time. mine hasn't faded at all from multiple use.
And I have no clue about the frame/liner lock. Whatever the Blur has...works fantastic.

Just ordered, should get it by next Tuesday. All black scallion for $32 total. I like the look of the blur but the ridiculous state I live in has bizarre local laws and some towns don't allow a blade over 2.5 inches so I went with the scallion. I'll post some pics here whenever I get it.

I have carried Spyderco since I was 16 and will probably never stray from Spyderco. I carry a BS POS, for work but that is because I already lost a Spyderco Military once while I was working. I am carrying a Military now that I broke working on a fence that Spyderco repaired. This knife is nasty sharp and I love it.
