The shocks do not lift the rear. Your best bet is to buy an add a leaf, commonly referred to as an AAL. Wherever you buy your billies from should sell a 1.5" AAL as well.

Not sure what you're trying to say. You mean u-bolts? They don't do anything other than secure the leafs to the axle, they don't lift the truck.

Another cheap, not so great option is to throw a block on there but most people on this site won't recommend it. AALs are cheap enough that I would go that route if I was on a budget.

What year is your truck and how much are you looking to spend? If your springs are super old, I'd probably get new springs for the front too. If you are super new to this, which is sounds like you are.....I would read this thread:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/11282-tacoma-lift-faq-guide-read.html

And when you're ready I would call a place like Toytec Lifts or Wheeler's Off Road or any of the other reputable dealers on this site and have one of their reps make sure you get everything you need.

For a decent lift at a good price I would recommend the 3" kit I got off of toytec. I paid right under $700 and got billstein 5100 adjustables for front and back, 885? (medium stiffness) coils, and a 2" AAL for the rear. It's just a basic 3" lift and haven't had any problems with it. There are a ton of people on here who have the same kit. I would recommend some UCA's soon after otherwise your alignment might be a little off.

That would about level out your truck, should look good. That kit comes with Eibach coils, you could probably set the 5100s to .85 and see what you get. You get more lift with those coils than you will with your stock ones.
