I hate the term "expo". Who needs to assign a stupid "label" like that anyway to a truck or a person? (besides all the people who attend the Overland expo :) ) The whole "expo" thing has just become a lame fad and an image thing for too many people. Kinda like mustacheode Hipsters.

To me it's just about a vehicle that will get me where I want to go reliably, and comfortably. The fact is that most of the "expo" stuff I own was only purchased in an effort to make getting to and staying in remote places more comfortable for my wife and family. If it was just me I could go much more primitive with the gear I have. That's not to say that I don't enjoy the fridge or the RTT, cuz I love them, but they are by no means a requirement. But I enjoy spending the time with my wife more than I do just going with a group of guys so the comfort items were necessary to keep it enjoyable for her.

I hate when the "expo" label gets put on me or my truck. I just want to get out and see places that most people can't get to. Often that can take days to get to those places so I have gear and equipment that can make it possible that is all.

well..in a perfect world there would be no labels..

But it is a very personal thing and mostly opinion id say. Why we have had so many different thoughts about it.

Your opinion is a good one though!

Monte, I got some tires (265/75/16 BFG AT KO's) that i can get free if i trade in my tires, i test fitted them today and i'm rub free everywhere except at full lock, i rub a tiny bit on the frame, should i run 1/4'' wheel spacers? or just take a BFH to the frame where it's rubbing?

I'm not a fan of spacers (one more part to fail), but i'm hesitant to hammer my frame.

Oh god no don't hammer the frame haha

And wheel spacers aren't that bad. Hell im still running my 1.5'' Allpros AND i rolled the truck with them on..just keep on eye on the bolt torque and they are fine.

What rims are the tires coming on?? should rub the frame with your stock rims unless they are 2nd gen wheel?

What ever you do, do NOT take a BFH to the frame.

If the rubbing bothers you, 1/4 spacer with ET lugs is ok.... actual bolt-on spacers (can get as small as .75") is better.... better still would be new wheels with a negative off-set.

I didn't think i should, but it was a option.
I'll need longer studs for a 1/4'' spacer right?
Stock 1st gen, my uncle wants to swap tires/wheels to get a little better power in his pre runner.

Thanks silas, the rubbing does bother me, but i may run them anyway.
I'd prefer as small a spacer as possible, i'm not a fan of wheels outside/under the edge of the fender.
