Hey guys I just want to take a minute to say thanks to all you guys for all the great info that you all post and for answering all my questions. After months of research on Tacoma World and picking your brains. I finally pulled the trigger on a leveling kit. I decided to go with 5100's set at 0 and the OME 883x coils in the front and just the 5100's out back , non tsb leafs. The ride is just awesome and it leveled it out perfectly . It is exactly the look I was going for. I will post pic's soon. :D

I feel bad for non-members. .. . doesn't mean that I don't enjoy scoffing at their lack of taco-knowledge though.

I think everyone on here has a truck setup in a way that makes them happy. all because of this website. I guess that's a thank you from me also!

Now you're going to have to change your signature...glad it worked out for you. How does the 'awesome ride' compare to pre-level ride?

The ride is smooth and not as bouncy as stock. I liked the stock ride but I love it now. Infect my Wife didn't even know that I had leveled it till I said something. Which was my plain to see if she noticed a difference . LOL :D

That's great to hear. Once my suspension feels trash I'm thinking of going with the OME 883x coils in front with 5100s all the way around. Sounds like you're running the exact same.

I'm not sure what the TSB leaf spring is, but have seen something about 4 spring packs, mine is only 3 so I'm guessing that's not TSB. I did add a helper spring years ago when I got my trailer and began towing with it though.

All stock right now at 103k miles, about to do the first brake job on it next weekend. I'm surprised they lasted so long with the abuse I've put the truck through. This is what has me thinking I'm probably overdue for a suspension job but at the same time it still drives well.

I had a spacer/block lift-level kit on it with 285/75s for maybe 1.5-2 years during the 8 years and 5 months I've had the 2005 2TR. Seems to have more rake these days which is what has me thinking new springs. Ideally I don't want to level it so I'm trying to sort out what to do about an ~1-1.5" lift in the rear without using the old 1" block I have laying around. I'm thinking new spring packs because the rear leafs look a bit flat but the helper has definitely helped them in more ways than one. I much prefer the stiffer ride in the rear when compared to fully stock. Hopefully a new tiny lift pack can give the same feel.

Again, I'm happy to hear this combo rides great for you. I suspect it will be just what I'm looking for. Minimal lift with better suspension.

When I bought my truck, the dealer said he traded it in because the copass/ temp gauge wasn't working and he wanted the truck to beep when it locked...

Quick question. Did you adjust your headlights downward to compensate for raising the nose of the truck?

I didn't only because it really didn't make that much of a difference. It still lights up the rode just fine.

My leafs are the stock 2+1 they are still in pretty good shape. What I would think about doing if I where you is , get rid of the helper springs and go with ether the 3 leaf progressive aal from Wheelers or a new leaf pack. All depends on cash flow. The 3 leaf aal will give you about 1.5in of lift. Now you may have to go with the OME 884x coils if you wont it level.
    Hope this helps. :)

It won't make a difference to you but to everyone else it might. I'm sure a cop wouldn't be too impressed that you blinded him(coming from the other way) and he had to pull you over. You should actually make sure your lights don't blind anyone. Just because they're good for you doesn't mean they're safe for everyone else.

Oh... and here is how to adjust your headlights.

"A" Is vertical adjustment. "B" is horizontal.

No problem. You shouldn't need a screwdriver / wrench to adjust the lights. The "thumb" wheels are big enough for you to turn with your fingers. At least mine were.
