Is this too much to tow with my 4cyl. automatic?

The trailer brakes don't work and it feels a bit hard to stop, but I can fix them if you guys think it'll need them. Also, the rear of the truck is sagged and solidly on the rubbers (ride quality sucks) so suggestions of some kind of helper springs would be great.

Well, a Tundra did tow the space shuttle.

 

Boat & trailer total length about 28-29' guessing around 5-6k. lbs. Getting up a freeway onramp sucks I've got a nitrous kit almost done installing should be good then

 

Even if you fix the brakes... i wouldn't.
Can you imagine how long it would take to get up to 70 in the interstate with that? I would be interested to see how long it takes you to get up to speed on a flat road though..

My xrunner had a 500 tongue weight and 2300 towing if i remember correctly, I didn't really like towing my dual waverunner trailer loaded so I would not try this. Probably just burn up your trans.

But I hope this is a joke...

 

its on the bumper hitch and i was surprised too that it holds up really well. thought about a reciever but its already so hevy the springs don't hold it well so the extra wwight of a hitch woud make it wors

Good eye guys! The boat does have a nice set of outriggers specifically for trolling.


Ok, bored and drinking. The photo is real and of my Tacoma and boat. I only towed it a few blocks to get from the transport truck to my house. No f'king way I'd want to tow it for real. The springs were sagged for days so I finally jacked it up by the bumper and let the axle hang for a few days and that seemed to fix them. They were transported together and I was kinda forced to drive off that way in a hurry.

BTW, it tows a hair easier with an F-350 diesel.

 

I was gunna say if its weighs 6k I wouldn't even tow it with the v6.
