    Yeah I have no idea, gonna get it towed to a shop tomorrow and start tearing it down. It has 125,000 miles, what else should we replace while its open?

    Motor mounts are fine and gussetted by DMZ, the noise is definitely internal

    allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    sounds like a valve broke.

    do any of you guys have hitches with rear tube bumpers? or with a dual tire carrier?? i really need a hitch, and im trying to think if i have t completely make a new bumper, or just gusset the shit out the current one? suggestions?? would like to be able to tow a flatbed trailer with possibly another truck on it if i had too

    Well depends on whether or not you have to remove the heads or not.

    Could be a broken lifter.

    Start by draining the oil & checking the coolant. As well check the spark plugs.

    Remove the valve covers and inspect before going deeper.

    Wouldn't do that. They are noninterference motors.

    Do these trucks have hydraulic lifters?

    Yeah i drained the oil and replaced it, and coolant was fine. I'll post when its opened up and go from there. Thanks:)

    xxxx recently blew and replaced his motor and I believe yours sounds pretty much like
    his . Got a hold of him and find out exactly what blew on his motor

    There aren't lifter really..not like a Chevy. No push rods. The lifters are small cylinders with very specific sized caps to match the cams just right. If you pull them out, make SURE you know EXACTLY where they go.

    I doubt one of those broke..but hey..who knows. Could be an actual valve too broke at the stem :eek:
