I'm NE of the mountain, the sky is glowing above it, I can see fire truck lights up there, the mountain is about 10 miles away, I could see flames coming home tonight from 15 miles away, big flames. Hopefully it doesn't crest the mountain and move north, lot's of homes on that side in Mitchell Canyon, they think it may be 3000 acres and growing, no way to fight it at night, too rugged and dangerous. There are fire roads up and down that mountain but you could get trapped up there easy. Last big fire was maybe twenty years ago, lot's of fuel, extremely dry and extremely hot today and tomorrow.

Wow that's nuts. I'm guessing that the convoy of fire trucks from the Marin County FD I saw today were headed to the fire.

Who says it's 3000 acres? That would be a 10x growth in the last 4 hours. Seems more like what the news is reporting, 800.

As of the time stamp on this report, 302am it's only 800 acres and 10% contained. http://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/Fire-Near-Mt-Diablo-Grows-to-350-Acres-222894551.html

My son was there playing a basketball game with his team at a Jr high school there last night when the call came in for everyone to evacuate to that same school He texted me pics of the firemen setting up the helicoptor that dumps the water. I guess they came to the field of the school. Shortly after they changed the evacuation meeting place to the library. I guess the school was in danger as well.

The name of the mountain on fire is Mt Diablo. Here's a pic of it at night. Can you see the devil's face?

This morning it's being reported as 1500 acres with air tankers to hit it starting at 8am.

Hopefully, they get it under control quickly. Another scorcher predicted for today.

Yeah I can totally see the face. Big black eyes with red pupels a long mushed nose with large nostrils and the mouth ending at the up row of teeth, looking down and to the left... I was thinking the same thing when I found out Mt. Diablo was on fire.

I love my Tacoma, and I REALLY LOVE my Niners!!! It also helps to have the Mid Travel suspension for smashing through the city on the way home. Fighting the parking and streets are where the Taco excels.
