got a dc trd sport 4x4 with bug guard wheel locks chrome exhaust tip and tow pkg for 31,318 sticker was 33,316. I dont think the sales manager was to happy i was playing them against another dealership and i mad my best deal with the other and then called them in a frantic wanting to know what they could do for me. It was great!

Honestly i bought the 90k 7 year warranty for 900 and he gave me an extra 2 years of maintenance. Ive never purchased a warranty but i figured with all the electronics on cars these day ill get it.

I feel i did good considering i had to get out of my subaru forester, they gave me 19,100 for it. Nada was 21,600 private party, i had it for sale for weeks and had not one call.

Oh i got a free hat out of the deal too.

Glad to be back in a tacoma, subie only got 25 mpg and about a billion rock chips.

I have started back my search for a new truck. I went to the local dealership and pick up info pack on the '14 Tacoma. It look just like the '13 with the same specs with very few minor changes according to the pack. Anyways I figure I could get a good deal on a '13. I contacted a dealer for a '13 mgm dc trd of 4x4. The msrp on the truck is $33848 ( $34648 with dealer fees). They came down to $31500. I have another dealer quote for $30800 which they matched no problem. The other truck had navigation on it. I don't need navigation but for the price I might as well get it. I no longer have the e-mail the other dealership sent me to verify it. I did give them the dealership's name though. My question is do you guys think I can get anymore knocked off the price or should I run down there to pick it up? Also do you guys think $29800 is out of the question?

Well if the other truck has everything the first truck has plus Nav and is cheaper then the obvious choice is the second truck. Whether you can get it even cheaper depends. Not sure what their actual invoice is. You'd need to look that up.

Fawk that. By yourself a base model, SR5 with etune. By yourself a top notch lift kit add the same wheels and even TRD exhaust and still save money. I don't understand why pay almost 40K for a mid size truck.

I'm in the market for a new Taco, 4x2 with the short bed. I've got an 03 PreRunner TRD/SR5 now and not sure what I want in the 2013/14 model. When I bought the 03, the TRD gave the Taco a stockier appearance vs. the SR5 - today however, the PreRunner with SR5 package is just as stocky as the TRD.

I am not an off-roader. Should I stick with the SR5 or ? What is the TRD going to give me that I'll miss in the SR5 only?

Been negotiating with several dealers within central/northern California.

Just about every one of them is willing to take invoice (about 27,990 for a DCSB 4x2 trd off road with tow package) or very close to it for a 2013. I initially got to this price using costco pricing, however most dealers have matched it or come close.

There seems to be zero room to get anything below invoice at this point, as I have tried very hard. I don't know if that will change as 2014's actually start arriving.

Some dealers have told me they will be getting 2014's within a week or two. Most are saying they will be much closer to MSRP. Still, using Costco pricing I believe a much better deal can be had (maybe a couple % above invoice).

Trd gives some nice conscience options, the seats alone are 10x better. Drive both!

I HIGHLY doubt that, unless the base model seats are cement, embedded with rusty metal spikes, or the TRD seats come with Jessica Alba. Haha.

Are you kidding... the bolsters are nicer and the seats in the trd breathe better and are also water resistant.
    It's gunna be ok.

Yeah, but 10 times better? Not unless the base model seats are cement, embedded with rusty metal spikes, or the TRD seats come with Jessica Alba.

Otherwise, I guessing more like 1.2-1.5 better.
Not uptight or anything, just making a joke.

Got these 2 offers back from the dealer today. I am in North Florida

    Both 2013 DC -

    1st - Spruce Mica, 4x2 PreRunner w/ TRD Offroad - 27,998 (+ttf)
    2nd - Spruce Mica, 4x4 (no TRD) - 28,975 (+ttf)

Neither seems all that great (especially when I compare to a truecar pricing with the same setup). Any opinions on how much lower I should push? Was hoping to find a 4x4 with TRD but no luck really there.

2013 double cab short bed 4x4, TRD off road, Tow package, JBL entune navigation, w/ predator step rails.

    Sticker 36,700
    Paid 31,900

Not sure how great of a deal I got because I had just started looking when I bought it. I only stayed to play because the truck was exactly what I wanted, in the color I wanted, and it was the ONLY one left in stock that fit all my wants. Not going to worry about if they would have come down more or anything. I'm happy with the truck, and a thousand here or there wouldn't make very much difference in payments anyway.

Was the $31900 before tax? trade? Sounds like a decent deal with Entune/Nav

Yes, before TTL, .. not an out the door price. Just comparing what the sticker was, to the negotiated price for the vehicle.

The price on the PreRunner is the lowest price i've found anywhere around here on a similar truck. I have not been able to push any lower. I've made several offers at even slightly lower and they've been rejected.

I got similar pricing for your 2nd option, DCLB 4x4 with sr5 and tow. The way I got to my pricing was this:

    +28185 Base
    +1630 SR5
    +650 Tow
+915 "MANUF, DELV, PROC, & HNDLG"
    =31380
    -1970 Truecar coupon.
    =29410

Anything else left in the car like mats, toyoguard, or door paint protector I told them I didn't need those things and they could keep them. However in the end I opted for TRD sport which brought it up roughly 1500 dollars.
