Seems weird the op joined in 08 and has only 55 posts. But then again it is most likely the account user is either a troll like worthyopponent said or the person hardly logs in and now they bitch about something stupid.

Look at his post history, it is all sorts of "I don't want to do the work, tell me what to do" and other stupid stuff. I try not to get upset at people over the internet because you aren't getting a full picture, but this guy seems like he is blaming everyone for his own problems.

IDK, but I've always rotated my own tires and no one has ever stolen my hub caps, if I even have those.

My '09 5-lug has factory chrome hubcaps. They're all still attached.

My '11 Scion xD lost a hubcap on the way home from the 10,000 mile oil change/tire rotation. Called the dealer, got the runaround, quit going to that dealer. Simple.

Took my hubcaps off a few years ago and threw them under the work bench somewhere. Sounds like I should put them up on eBay.

I actually assumed the first one was left off by the shop. Then it happened again after the oil change in another shop. Then I thought well, someone might be stealing them. Then, recently after another oil change at a third, different shop, another cap goes missing (yes, they are hub caps since they cover the hub). I called at each shop and they all blew me off. A simple answer no, the caps weren't there. I said well they were there when I brought it in, no nothing.

I haven't read all the way through - but why ever leave the service without all of your hub caps if you arrived with them all? And then resort to calling them instead of speaking in person? Keep buying hub caps.

The first time I spoke with them face to face, just a shoulder shrug and that was it. I could have screamed and yelled I suppose and get a lawyer but that is more than the caps, don't you think? The second and third I called getting the same response.
It is better to do the change yourself as it must be difficult to get help that can replace these technical pieces of wonderment.

But I think he's talking about the center caps that are on all wheels, from the base model steelies to the alloys.

The true definition of "Hub Cap"

What most people refer to as "Hub Caps", and what I pictured above, are more properly referred to as "Wheel Covers"

So by the tone of your message you are assuming I am lying about the caps? I am an honest man. I never even stole a piece of penny candy in my life. I have run into this three times as far as the shop not replacing the hubcaps properly.

I always do that at the stealership or anywhere else.. once off the lot.. it call tough shitksy.

Thank you! Exactly right! I don't know why this is bugging me so much, but ignorance and people blaming other people for their problems is BS. Grow up, OP and take responsibility for your actions.

Go plastidip your wheels and I bet they can't steal that!

Wow, I find it strange that some of you find it necessary to attack me and you sound angry.
I agree, I should inspect my vehicle top to bottom after these fools work on it. It is disappointing to think that I need to do something so simple. It really shouldn't be that "out there" to think they can put the effort into making sure the caps a solidly attached. I have had this happen three times at three different shops so trying to find a competent shop may be near to impossible.
I DO find it weird that you seem more angry at me and blame me more than the inept service people.
5280.. I don't know why it is bugging you so much either. I have every right to be angry about inept service that I PAY for. They can be slip-shod because who is going to battle over the caps anyway. It isn't cost or time effective to fight them.

My 04 SR5 had those same hub caps, or wheel covers or whatever you want to call them... the garage I used had a tough time re-installing them after a tire rotation. If you've ever done it yourself, you know you need to make sure the metal retainer clips are in the right spot before punching it on. They can be installed, just installed badly and then they fall off when you drive away. I wouldn't doubt that the garage didn't steal them, they are plastic crap anyway. Just carelessly installed.

I got into the habit of taking mine off every time I went to get service done, and installing them myself later.

So your saying all these shops have some sort of sicko one hubcap fetish? That's disgusting, immoral, and repulsive.

No, I am saying they are inept and don't put the effort into reinstalling them correctly. I am upset because they are paid to reinstall them correctly but don't.
