Looks real nice Jim. I like a dark finish as well. Seems like there is more pizazz to a setting on a dark table.

Sitting at the computer listening to music from the 60's. It's on the local public TV channel, and is all the songs that women, or groups of women sang.
You can actually understand the lyrics.
SOOTHING, and brings back DISTANT MEMORIES!
SO; for a donation of $250, you can receive 6 CD's and 3 DVD's of these songs!

HAPPY HUMP DAY:D:D:D...Hope everyone is good.

Table looks good Jim. Can't get them built like that anymore so refinishing is the way to go. Wife has some of her Mom's furniture and one piece needs to be refinished. A project for after I retire. Soon:D:D:D:D

Love those shows on the PBS channels Carl. They do bring back memories from the good "Era of Music". Although I do remember my parents shaking their heads and saying how disgusting Elvis (because of his hips), the Beatles and other rock groups music were...I was raised with Lawrence Welk, Mitch Miller, Perry Como, Nat King Cole, etc. I do appreciate all their music but prefer the 60's. Rap is a big thumbs down:facepalm::eek:. Have a good day all.

Never easy losing a loved one no matter what the cause. I hope his family is doing better. You never really forget and you truly never get over the death of a loved one.

This should ring a bell with some of us! What car did you once own and finally sell that you now wish you'd kept?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=QwcRG2aEi3s#t=2

For me, that would be a 1947 Ford duce coupe, a car I bought for $125 from a friend in High School, drove for a number of years, then sold to get something 'newer'! Should never have parted with it..

There were actually 3 cars that I wish I still had. I bought my Uncles 1951 Ford coupe, 3 speed on the column with a flathead 8 under the hood. He had an accident so after I straightened it out and put it on the road, I sold it for $125 cause I needed the money. Bought my next car for $600 and it was a 1961 Chevy Impala 2 door coupe white with the red stripe down the side. Great car till it died then I got rid of it for my 1966 Mustang. Wish I had all 3 back, but when your young you don't realize their value....

For me the dumbest thing I ever did in my life was to trade in my 1965 Mustang fastback 2+2 on a brand new 1971 Pinto ! I got married that year & figured I should get rid of the hot rod .Still have the same wife, but the Pinto didn't last very long. When you're 21 you think you know it all. Just doesn't work out that way. I will try to post a pic of my Mustang when I stop crying.

    Evening all:
Glad I'm not crying over getting rid of the "classic"! :D
Now, if only I would have bought that vette from Tom and kept it, but I sure wouldn't want to sell it back to him for what he sold it for!
Darn, that car would be an IRA!

SEE-Those mustangs still attract women! VVVVVVVVVVVV

Just read the link Sue posted below. Tell it the way it is; it shows that not everyone who goes to the grave has a family in grieving! Looks like in this case, it's good riddance.

Dear Mrs. Ms. Or Sir: I'm in the process of renewing my passport and still cannot believe this. How is it that Radio Shack has my address and telephone number and knows that I bought a cable TV from them in 1987 (23 years ago), and yet, the Federal Government is still asking me where I was born and on what date. For Christ's sake, do you guys do this by hand? Ever heard of computers?

My birth date you have in my social security file. It's on EVERY income tax form I've filed for the past 35+ years. It's on my Medicare health insurance card and my driver's license, it's on the last eight damned passports I've had, it's on every stupid customs declaration form I've had to fill out before being allowed off the plane for the last 30+ years. And it's on all those census forms that we have to do at election times. Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother's name is Maryanne, my father's name is Robert and I'm reasonably confident that neither name is likely to change between now and when I die.

Between you and me, I've had enough of this bureaucratic bullshit! You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my #*&#%*& address. What is going on? You must have a gang of bureaucratic Neanderthal morons working there! Look at my damn picture. Do I look like Bin Laden? And "No," I don't want to dig up Yasser Arafat, for shit sakes. I just want to go and park my ass on a sandy beach. And would someone please tell me, why would you give a damn whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next 15 days? If I ever got the urge to do something weird to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, I'd sure as hell not want to tell anyone!

Well, I have to go now because I have to go to the other end of the city and get another #*@&#^@*@ copy of my birth certificate, to the tune of $100. Would it be so difficult to have all the services in the same area so I could get a new passport the same day? Nooooo, that would require planning and organization. And it would be too logical for the @&^*^%@% government. You'd rather have us running all over the place like chickens with our heads cut off. Then, we have to find some asshole to confirm that it's really me in the damn picture - you know, the one where we're not allowed to smile.

Hey, you know why we can't smile? We're totally pissed off!

    Signed- An Irate Citizen.

P.S. Remember what I wrote about getting someone to confirm that the picture is me? Well, my family has been in the United States of America since 1776. I have served in the military for something over 35 years and have had security clearances up the ying yang. However, I have to get someone important to verify who I am - you know, someone like my doctor....WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN INDIA ! And you assholes want to run our health care system?????

Don't want to quote the whole thing; but the last part of: "and you assholes want to run the health care system" hits home.
The HCTC I had so much problems with, is a division of the IRS!
I would assume it's also meant to create a lot more high paying govt. jobs, especially if it's run by the IRS.
The push for national healthcare may be twofold; not that we don't need job creation, but it just seems like most of the new jobs are coming at the taxpayers expense! :notsure:
OH! They just mentioned it on the news, another program ripe for fraud. They were talking about the subsidies for low income recipients, and that people would claim it that don't deserve it. You know, like the 17% that have "THE PHONE", that don't qualify for it!
I think that "AH" is being too nice!!!
Anyone watching O'Reilly? Another interesting tidbit. Something about "ALL" the prior conductors on the Long Island RR are on disability! Hummm; Maby someone should look into that!
Same with the town in CA., where every police officer, with more than 15 yrs. is out and receiving full benefits because of stress related to the job. They hired more officers, who did the same, and are now paying current officers! (who I'm sure will do the same)
Why are we going broke!
