    Hello all!

Just picked up a 13' Tacoma a few days ago. I have wanted a Tacoma for some time now and finally pulled the trigger on one.

Looking for some mods for the car. The car will be used for about 60% pavement and 40% 4x4 (mainly mud, rocks & snow)

I will be installing pretty much all the parts on the truck so that saves me some money. I’m use to modding cars so I am all new to the truck scene, differences between the different lifts and purposes they have.

It looks like 3" is the primary lift before you start getting into the big bucks and from the research I've done it looks like you could wedge some 33" tires with little to no rub with a 3" suspension lift.

The Bilstein 5100s look like a decent upgrade and looks like I could raise the truck by about 2.5-4" with that. I have a lot more research to do before I decide on anything however.

I also like the grey. I got same thing minus the TRD. I love it...only mod i've done is putting a hose clamp on tailgate and the WHISTLE elimination mod, amazing what some WD40 and 3' of 1/4'' hose can do to save a person's sanity!!! (40-70mph whistle was extremely annoying)

Leasing it...may buy it after lease is up or if trucks are getting 30mpg in 3 yrs I'll send it back...so much ease and fun for hauling stuff in the bed!

    Thanks everyone!

I have to look up what mod you are talking about the with hose clamp and the whistle? Not noticed anything like this yet.

Is this kit too overkill for entry level or just right? I don't want to be completely a cheap ass since it is a 33k truck.

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/3-lift-kit-with-Bilstein-5100-Height-Adj-Coilovers_p_364.html

Front Bilstein 5100 adjustable coilovers, rear Bilstein struts and AALs. Looking to get the best ride and closest to a 3" lift I can.

What are the largest tires people can put on stock 17" Tacoma wheels, the stockers are 265/65R17. Not sure if I need to buy new rims or not to fit 33"/12.5 wheels? Without having to replace the ACUs.

    Thanks everyone!

Added some tint! 5% rear and 15% front.

Also decided to black out the emblems. I'll get better pictures of them tomorrow in the daytime.

Now that you have made the downpayment purchasing the truck, the real money starts flowing with the mods.......

Nice truck though, I just ordered the same thing on Saturday.

If your plasti dip badges do not come out good, try removing them with fishing line and a hair dryer and painting them with off the truck. I tried your method and the plasti dip just rubbed off when I washed it. You can get some 3M double sided adhesive to put them back on at any auto parts store.

Sweet. Thanks for the tip man! I hope the plastidip works, I put on about 7 coats

Not sure if I'm better off finding a set of cheap rims and putting larger tires on it or keep the stock wheels and put larger tires on. Have to see what the max people are running with the Toytec 3" lift I posted.

Thanks bud! I love driving it for sure.

    Thanks man, I'm from Woodbridge!

Bought all the stuff I need today to tint my tailights, have some 3k HIDs & Lamin-X for the fog lights.

Also got a set of Weathertechs on the way! Going to to the always on fog light mod as well, just getting the cheap inexpensive things out the way right now. Then onto the lift kit.
