What did it cost before? I only got my truck 2 weeks ago, and they never mentioned it costing anything, but I assume they already knew this was in the works.

There are four different levels of Entune now. They are not giving you the higher end most likely. Probably the first or second level. Third and fourth level has Nav as well. I'm going through this ordering ordeal and this is how I know.

Got the email today. For those that are confused, Entune was an option you had to add at the time of vehicle purchase. The Entune service was suppose to be free for only the first two years of service and then it would cost the customer a monthly fee. Now it won't cost me anything come May '14. I'm glad because I wasn't keen on paying for a service for a truck I only drive about 5,000 miles a year, but I do like to have the service when I do drive the truck.

For those without entune who want to addit, you're probably better off buying an aftermarket head until, than adding entune unit after the fact. Probably cheaper too. Also, to clarify the entune head unit is not free, just the service. So you can't go back to dealer and expect them to upgrade your Taco to entune for free.

I don't know if its possible to add it. I have the entune HU in my truck, but I cant register/logon because when I enter my VIN, the entune site says my vehicle is not equipped with entune.

Mine didn't come with entune, but it has the same number on it as the entune HU. I didn't even order it with navigation. the salesman was shocked when we were doing the walkthrough and I hit the "apps" button and went to the map. I just wanted the JBL stereo system. The thing even reads my emails and text messages to me when i'm driving :D
It would be nice if I could register for entune now that its free...

How did you get yours to actually read your texts/emails? Mine has a little message pop up that says I have a new text but it doesn't read them out loud..

When it comes up, press it. or navigate to messages and click on a message/email. When you are stopped, it will show the txt or email, as soon as you start moving, it will go away and then you have the option of hearing it. It doesn't work now that I have an iphone. but it worked perfectly fine with the blackberry.
I used to send myself messed up email just to hear her read them to me :D
It gets bad when its a re: re: re: re: email, cause she will read everything!
Another crappy thing is that I have sat radio, but it doesn't work in Hawaii
But at least I didn't pay for any of it, so it was a nice surprise

Ha, I didn't even think about people confusing this and thinking they can get Entune for free. Just the monthly subscription is free.....not the initial $2,000 option for it.

I knew there was no way they were going to charge a monthly for this.....it doesn't even worth all that great. No way they were going to get my money if they went through with it.

I wasn't aware that entune wasn't free until after I purchased my truck and joined te forums , if I ever got a bill I'd talk to a lawyer .

On another note , the entune and jbl system is crap anyways . If anyone's reading this that is going to be purchasing a truck . Save your money and buy a full aftermarket setup .
