I am considering purchasing my friends 2001 trd supercharged tacoma with 220,000 for $2500

Here's the skinny. Needs cat converters, some new bumpers(rusted to nothing),
Serious cleaning, maybe a O2 sensor? And that's all for now.

Had a new frame put on 5 years ago by Toyota along with brake lines and leaf springs

Recently ( last 50k miles) had timing belt and water pump replaced along with plugs and wires

Just had a used rear end put on last month after the left axle went he decided to just swap out the whole rear diff. Which lost the locker. And cost him $850 total

It has spacers on the front shocks but with newer leafs in back Toyota and he never added a leaf so it sits a little higher in front.

Comes with leer cap and ta/ko tires that I sold him last month for $300
Will also include broken rear diff that was just replaced if I want

My buddy just wants out of a money pit and I want a winter beater to save salt wear and mileage on my 2010.
He has owned since 40k miles and is 2nd owner. Mostly highway miles but does have most of its life in salty roads of Vermont.

I have a line on 04 bumpers for $80 and I figure if I need both cat converters it's like $350 then a serious detailing.

Any thoughts or concerns? Sorry no pics but it really isn't much to looks at. Just worn out black with rusty bumpers and beat up tailgate

For 2500 bucks I think I would take it. Even if it costs you another 2500 to fix it, 5k for Tacoma is pretty good. Pics would help though.

Some of this Some of that
You can get magnaflow 50 state converters for about $900 for both. It has Cali emmissions so you can't throw a shitty cat in it. I'd buy it!!! I'll get it if you don't want it! Haha. Just undercoat the frame with some kinda oil. Sounds like a hell of a deal for $2500!!!

there is an o2 sensor delete for about 100. never show the code again so you wont need cats. but its up to you . i would persanally take it and buy a allpro bumper or trail gear.
the o2 sensor delete is underdog racing

You would be unbelievably dumb to pass this up for $2500. Even if there were hamsters in the cylinders just running on little wheels, the fact that it has a new (rust free) frame on a 2001 body and blower makes it worth way more than $2500.

    Buy it.
    Buy it.
    Buy it.

Yeah I thought I'd get these k ind of responses. Thanks for the o2 sensor delete option, any major drawbacks to keeping bad cat in there?

Maybe everyone should give me or sell really cheap parts for this and well see how pimped I can get the truck looking and running for the cheapest build on tacoma world!!!
    Please?!
