I'm looking at getting a set of 5100s for my reg cab 4x4. I was looking for peoples experience with lifting the front end. It seems some people go with .85 others 1.75 to level the truck. Has anyone had vibration issues after lifting? I would guess our driveshaft has fewer issues, but the front diff needle bearing is what is making me lean towards staying on stock struts. I dont want to drop money into suspension and have it cause more issues. I will be moving to 265 75r16s at the same time, can anyone comment on the combo of 5100s and larger tires on vibrations or cv wear? Thanks

as no one seemed to even reply I have the 5100 up front and the 5125 in back with an AAL and OME 884 coils. I had bad driveline vibrations so I flipped the driveline and its perfect! CV angles are fine same with everything else.

I have 5100s all around and the Icon AAL, my 5100s up front are on the highest setting. After install I had a SLIGHT vibe, the alignment fixed it. I was super pleased with the smooth outcome. I chased vibes on my TJ wrangler the entire time I had it. I am nearly ready to order my UCAs, hopefully they will remedy the wandering on the interstate. No regrets here :) Hopefully down the road when I can spare the coin I will upgrade to some nicer coilovers to get a more "plush" ride.

Thanks for posting. I was thinking 884's for my 4cyl since there's less weight and your pic confirms that. Looks like a V6 SR5 with 885's. What size tires are those?

those are 245/75/r16. I did the lift with the 884 coils and removed my swaybar so I preloaded the 5100 to .85 and made the truck almost level. I decided to get the lift before tires. 265/75/r16 toyo M/T tires. I also removed my secondary air filter and made a big difference with the 4-cyl. Thanks man I love my Tacoma!

Any pics of how it sits now, with the 265's and after the coils have had a chance to settle? Also, what do you mean by "flipping" the driveshaft?
    Thanks again.

It looks pretty good now. The 245's don't really look as small as I thought they would.

How much lift did you get with the 884s and the 5100s set to .85? I'm thinking about just getting the 884s. I already have axle wrap issues so I'm thinking of getting the wheelers hd springs and removing a leaf. Don't want too much rake but a little is okay.

If you have no sway bar I would get the 885 coils. The only reason why I put the 5100 at .85 is because I didn't want to buy new coils.

I switched to 265/75/16s and i have 5100s on the front set at 1.75. I had a chevy dealer do the alignment after.. I dont trust my dealer any more..get a print out with before and after. A re-alignment is a must. The only vibe is from that damn needle bearing issue ,but Im doing that myself here in a few weeks. Also i keep my tires at 32 psi religiously..A chalk test may be in order depending on the tire I run michelin LTX MS2s /P rated..There are so many variables involved with lifting that i m leaving it at the increase I get from the 5100 and the rear spring TSB upgrade. My major vibration was just my drive line. So I flipped it and made a huge difference.

Reading about all these vibes, noises, and after lift problems makes me wonder if I should just stay stock.

No no. I only had one vibration. Drive shaft. Just flip it around. Other people have other problems. I have a 3 inch lift on mine. All I can tell you is that it was worth the money!
