Alright folks, I need some input here.

I am headed to San Diego on Thursday and leaving Monday to visit my brother, we have a couple ideas planned out but is there anything that my wife and I should definitely try and do while we are there? Gay as it sounds, we want to catch a sunset on the beach but beyond that, we are clueless.

Not even gay !! Sunsets in san diego are awesome whether its at the beach , the mountains or desert...




The sd zoo is world famous & theres sea world (also pretty famous)

theres a shit load to see...

 

Very nice photo! Luckily my Sister-in-law is an animal trainer at the SD Zoo so we can get in there for the day to check it out. We went there last time we visited so I wouldn't be missing too much if we skipped that (plus, don't want to make her go into work on her days off).

Any recommended places to see a sunset?

 

Sunsets on the beach are no-homo



Gay as it sounds, a day at the SD Zoo, or strolling around Balboa Park can be a great use of a day.

There are also about 70 craft breweries around town now, and a tour of a few of the best ones can be sweet. Ballast Point, Green Flash, Societe, Stone Brewery (Liberty Station), are a few of my favorites.

As far as viewing sunsets go, Torrey Pines Reserve is by far the most scenic spot to do so. After watching the best sunset ever, go to La Jolla for dinner. Whisknladle, Herringbone, and Prep Kitchen are my favorites.

The walk from La Jolla shore down to the Scripps pier or even all the way down to blacks beach is a super nice walk if the tide is low enough. As others have mentioned La Jolla has great places to dine that look right over the water and if you're interested in people watching you can head down to Pacific Beach or Ocean Beach. Sunset Cliffs also has a nice view to watch the sunset from
