That's the reason I bought mine...to have fun with and use

I've been through a lot of off roading with my truck but if you keep it clean and keep up the maintenance on it you will be fine.

I wouldn't be half as happy with my truck if it stayed in the pavement all the time

Think that is the majority of people on here. If you are nice to your truck then you should be able to drive it where ever you want, and not have problems.

I guess it depends on the difficulty of the trail and your willingness to potentially damage your truck. I started doing a trail in Moab but ended up pussing out because I was by myself and didn't want to break my truck 1,200 miles from home. Here at home I'll take more chances.

Really depends on your definition of offroad as well as your vehicle. I learned my lesson with Doing serious offroading in my DD suzuki sidekick. I built it up to handle it. But things still break. I was regularly asking to borrow friends or family's vehicle's when the car was down. That being said. I still do some mild "offroading" in my tacoma. I'm just very careful. And don't push it. If I want to do some crazy stuff. That's what the zuk is for

Ah..so all your buddies want a mall crawling truck.

A real truck is mean't to be used..get it dirty..just don't abuse it..obviously. After the first few dings, dents, and scratches..you get over it. :p

Do it just dont be stupid about it. I used to get teased cause I wouldnt take my truck certain places off-roading that had possible body damage areas......well the other guys were driving $5K-$10K trucks while mine was over $30K plus over $10K in mods!!

I go offroading about twice a month with my daily Taco. Wash it real good (especially underneath) after each trip and you should be fine.

Then it comes down to, Do you have a job? If so is there disposable income? If either answer is no, then I would suggest to and from work/ school and thats it...

only wheel what you can afford to fix on your own.

if you don't have a job yet, a mountain bike may be a better fix for your offroading cravings. and i'm not saying that in a sarcastic way. i caught the off road bug when i started racing mountainbikes when i was 14. when i got a job, a truck became affordable. got a better job, and wheeling became affordable. The harder i work, the harder i get to wheel.

A Tacoma as an investment? I got some good news for you...

Start enjoying the off road capabilities of your truck and buy a classic pristine muscle car and put it in a bubble.

Should you "off road" your daily driver? Well it depends...

    Yes!

    No!

Eh - maybe... depends on you and your truck:
