Ya know, in this day & age of society & the way it embraces technology one could say "obsessed" really. I had what could only be termed an epiphamy earlier today.... I stopped at the local AM/PM for gas, as usual it was busy with it's 12 pumps all occupied (including myself )...

As I stood there squeezing the handle , giving my truck what it needs to survive I had time to just look around & check out what the rest of the world was doing.... & what I saw really drove home the whole point of this thread... Everyone, & I mean everyone (except myself) had their face buried & fingers planted on their "I" phones or smart phones or whatever those dumbass things are called.... all those people around & outside & no one muttered a word,, it then dawned on me that this IS the state of our society & honestly , i felt kinda shocked & sick to my stomach at the same time, but it was so surreal to see that many peeps , complete strangers to one another, doing the exact same thing...we are a sick society for sure.....

better ways to communicate, Quicker ways to become connected.

Everything is electronic, If you cant do it electronically... Its out of date.

I can access all my bank accounts with my I phone. I can do pretty much everything i need to do on my Iphone. Even take credit cards when i plow snow in the winter for my town. Even fucking porn is high tech.

and then we come home and get on a computer and interact with people we will most likely never meet or really know.

better way to communicate? hardly but many will never know the difference.

Unfortunely its made it a lot easier to become very stressed out, Even depressed. Our depression/stressed annual stats has increased by 48% since Y2K Basically when things started getting technology based.

But, if all the electronics take a crap then you're SOL, to many people don't know how to do things without electronics, new auto techs for example, they plug in there computer and they have all this info at their fingertips, but if there machine doesn't work then they just throw parts at the car until its fixed.

Technology is helpful, but people need to learn its not a necessity.

Its open a whole new conflict of war. in the next 5 years i gurantee they will be rules to technologic warfare. Just like chemical. Rules, Regs and dos and donts.

EMPs render our whole country wide open to attack.

Some people shouldnt own hi tech stuff though.

Those auto techs dont know it but as soon as the glitches are cleaned so are there jobs. Why pay someone to do something that a machine that needs nothing can do quicker faster and more efficiently.

Absolutely man, thats what I'm sayin', I come from seeing the past & how things were done & have watched in awe the quick transformation of change thats been tech driven & gotta say , i can't expect someone here thats under 40-45 to understand what my point is... they've grown up with it , so it seems natural ,,albeit,, programed behavior, but yeah how i feel about it ?? Kinda sad , ya loose the personal interaction of whats around you cause ya get immersed in the somewhat anonaminity of a device in front of you....:notsure:

But it was also kinda weird & creepy .. ya know It was fuckin creepy just like robots

Yep, robot firefighters in the future..i should probably look for a new job...robots can extinguish a fire, burn, breathe smoke, filter it into clean air, and not die While i watch with a fire retardant jacket, helmet, underwear, whisky, and a cigarette from the outside.

Technology is a just another tool that so many people abuse! I am surprised some people even survive driving when they are on their phones texting

    Too many to list now.
I'm on my smartphone now, and anxiously await the new one announces today :)

But this is something I've always been very aware of. Societally, we are becoming less and less connected while putting out vast amounts of time and energy, albeit from our fingers, trying to tell the world what we're all about. I saw an interview just today talking about how it used to be you had to actually do something in order for folks to care what you said. Now you just put it out there and expect folks to listen.

I think there will be a backlash for this though, and I think it'll be revolutionary. It'll probably look a lot like the 70's I'd wager. Really we're just trading being known in intimate relationships and friendships for convenience and the ability to filter everything we want our 'friends' to hear and know about us. As a 26 year old in the midst of it, I'm very curious to see where it all leads.

Think about the million ways someone could get your fingerprint.

    Blood type just as easy.

LOL taking shits might be a little more undercover work.
