Cup holders to fit bed tie-down rails?

I've been camping a bunch this summer in my 2007 4WD Access Cab with a Leer camper shell, and we're permitted for a three-day trip on the White Rim in Canyonlands near Moab in early November. When settling in for the night I've imagined that there must be a company that makes cup holders that clamp into the tie-down tracks on the Tacoma's bed rails. I'd love to get my hands on a couple before the White Rim but I've just spent the last 90 minutes searching the Net and found absolutely nothing. Does anyone know if there is such a thing and where I can get them?

 

I made some once and used them last summer a lot for tailgating but I put them up and I can't remember what I did with them lol

I'm sure that I could Jerry rig something but I'm lazy and not incredibly handy, so I figured that there must be an obvious solution out there somewhere.

 

You can use one of these and run a T-slot nut through the bed rail:

On occasions I have been and those with a lawn chair and cooler in the bed makes for a killer time at a bonfire, baseball game, ect. I wish I knew what I did with them now. I might have to try and make more. I just cut pipe and welded tabs that slid into the rails on one side and offset them so they would stick out a little bit. I made them big enough to stick a koozie inside them to keep beverages cold. Worked great actually. Just a bitch to snag your leg or something on though.

Ha! True, but after I rolled over in the middle of the night and in so doing Sent my wife's phone for a swim in a glass of whiskey I've been looking for a better solution.

 

I saw some magnetic coosies good for 60mph and it had the Toyota emblem on it so win win.

No water involved. That's just not how I roll (over).

 

I don't know if you're much of a fabricator, but since I am, here's what comes to the top of my head.

Run down to your local Homey Despot and pick up a piece of 4" black ABS pipe and a cap to fit. And some ABS cement. Glue the cap to one end. Measure to your liking, cut. Drill a hole for the mounting bolt, and use whatever T-bolt fastener you prefer (you could always use the OE cleats separated from their rail mounts).
You should have more than enough leftover pipe to make another half dozen cup holders, too!
Want a little more extension? Stick a section of 1/2" PVC pipe between the mount and the cup holder. Or a piece of heater hose. Or a metal spacer. Or anything hollow and able to be cut to size.
Want a little wobble to it? Bend a piece of 1/8" thick bar stock into a U that fits around the cup holder, drill a hole on either end (to mount to two opposing sides of the cup holder), and a hole in the middle (to mount to the rail mount).

Fully customizable, something you can point to and say, "I made that!", and less than $10. And less than a half hour of work.

 

I'm not much of a fabricator so I'm lost at envisioning this stuff, but once someone makes it that obvious I'm off and running. Thank you! The key for me is that I wasn't aware that those t-bolts or t-nuts were relatively commonplace. Thanks to all for the education!

I think in the end I'll use t-nuts and regular bolts to attach those fold-up cup holders that I can find cheaply. That way they can be freely positioned wherever desired, yet fold out of the way when not in use. But then again I may change my mind 5 more times.
