100% full blown jealous of my parents right now. i come from a boating family, and my parents just flew out to california to see some friends and watch the America's Cup  If you haven't seen the videos of these boats, definitely check them out. beautiful feats of engineering.

these are some of the pictures my dad took

Ultragauge arrived. Is it just plug and play or does it require me to do anything?

Now I have to go wait 9 hours till I get off work to install it.

    :help:

Alright, I think I may have just perpetrated a colossal waste of time.

I installed my tach, but it's not reading. It lights up with the dash lights and the needle zeros out when I turn the key on, but it's not registering RPM. I hooked the signal wire to the black wire going to the blue instrument cluster plug per instruction in a how to thread.

Autometer says the signal wire can be tied into the black wire going to pin 8 of the ignition ignitor. So...the question is: is this the ignition ignitor (the 8th wire over is black, but I want to be sure)?

If this is the correct box, I'm going to try hooking the wire to the specified wire. If that doesn't work then either my tach is toast or it's not compatible with the distributorless ignition. Of course, I think I did buy it the same year my truck was made so you'd think it would say if it wasn't.

J remember this problem with the ole driveshaft? I think this is what i need
Do the driveshaft spacer which will push the driveshaft where it should be. I also posted a pic of how your driveshaft probably looks now and where it should be coming out of the tailshaft of the transmission. You can get these here and they sell them in different thicknesses so you can get the one that is right for your application. I run the 1.25 and im at 5" front and 4 rear as well. No vibes or shutters at all.

J can you help with some of this cause I know I'm an idiot

    • (***) Some Tacoma pickups use a 65mm square bolt pattern on the CV joint.
      • Please be sure to measure the bolt hole spacing of the flange you intend to put the spacer on as the front and rear flanges may be different.
      • Also note that on rear 2-piece drive shafts, the flange off the carrier bearing will likely be a different pattern than the transfer case flange, usually something like 60mm x 60mm, so be sure to check the bolt pattern on the flange you wish to install the spacer before ordering!
      • This same bolt pattern may also be used on some 3rd generation 4Runner on the pinion flange and again the pattern on the pinion/axle end of the drive shaft is likely a different pattern than on the transfer case end. So be sure to know which pattern you have on the end of the shaft that you intend to put the spacer on prior to ordering.
      • Some Tundra and Tacoma pickups also use this same bolt pattern including the 2WD pickups
        • On the 2WD pickups (Tundra and Tacoma), this bolt pattern is present on the pinion flange, which is where the spacer is installed since the upper end of the shaft slips into the tail housing of the transmission.

K9, look up "Yotamatt". He's running the driveshaft spacer.
