The flaps were the first mod I did on both my trucks...

Take them off and never look back!

Gotta have them off to get that nice spray up the body panels!

Plus with no mud flaps the body looks more streamlined

Interesting, I doubt it, but then again you never know. See you got you m/t ready for the hump.

    Yeah,
I have a set of FJ wheels and had them re-clear coated & they are now in storage. My plan was to buy 275/70r17 BFG A/T's by the end of the year for those. I bought these (5) FJ wheels with 285/70r17 M/T's & tires for a great price with plans to re-sell them but I'm so pleased with how they ride that I decided to keep them.

I took off the flaps, plus with those bigger tires once that suspension starts moving up and down with
the uneven surfaces your tire will more than likely git caught up in the flaps. So whats the point,
plus like finks said with no flaps you get more mud on the truck haha

I got fj rims on my truck also but there the 2012 model I think, they also come on the new 4runner.
but I went with a set of nitto terra grapplers 270/65r17 or is it 265/70r17 cant remember one of those.

even with that they sometime rub when the surface was uneven so off went the flaps

To all of you who have removed your mud flaps:
Just to be clear, did you remove the front mud flaps only or all (4)?
Atleast with removing the fronts, the side steps can shield the paint to a certain degree. Has your paint suffered due to rocks chipping the sides?

I have cut down front mudflaps and full length rear mudflaps. Even with BAMF sliders, the body still gets sprayed with mud pretty good.

I took off all 4. In fact, one off my rear ones just blew off the back one day going down the highway.

The truck in particular is still on its way down to miami, I should be finding out sometime this
week. Trust if I get it you will see the pictures on here lol.

Idk about your area but it seems as though toyota doesnt stock up on trd sport dc/lb 4x4 at all.
This truck in particular is supposedly the only one around. Did you have the same problem?

My pickup was different than my tacoma in the sense I have to remove some of the fender and it has little cap things before the door whereas my tacoma had/has none of that.

    2010.TRD,
It IS the area that determines the merchandise. Off-roading is not as popular down here as it is in other places. Thats the same for any business. Down here you have Cuban Cafe's inside Publix's but I don't see that in the Publixs in Tarpon Springs when I go there.

I saw (3) 4WD Tacomas, parked side by side, at a Toyota dealership in Georgia. They were parked at different angles as if to show them off-roading. Never seen that down here.

    PK,
Your mud flap set-up sounds like mine but with 285's, they're coming off.

    BTW,

I was thinking of adding a 1" steel block from (Fat Bob's Garage) & 885 coils (either Wheelers or ToyTech) & setting the Bilsteins at "0" but that's $300 just to get about 1" of lift. I want maximum clearance for when I go off-road. I can also save money by setting the Bilsteins to 2.5 but I heard it rides very firm & I think it rides firm enough. Is an inch that much of a difference?

Ground to top of fender opening:
    LF:37" / RF:37"
    LR:39" / RR:39"

Center of hub to top of fender opening:
    LF:22.25 / RF:22.25
    LR:24.25 / RR:24.25

    Thanks

I think if your going to spend 300 dollars on just 1inch of lift your better off saving that
money for a full 3 inch lift , just my opinion

All 4 of mine are off on both trucks...with the all terrains and where I live, I get a lot of rocks that get picked up, it no scratches yet (on either truck I had). The thing I can say is that I get a lot more kick up on my truck without the flaps.

There were quite a few down here when I was looking. I'd look at a few more dealerships also...just to see what they have.

This may end up happening this year depending on how the housing search goes...
