Still won't keep up with a large reflector and HIDs. Id still wait for LED technology to really catch up and become more affordable. IMO

Also..ill be joining the LT group soon..ish..i think :spy: :D

True, just the first one ive seen actually try to get better distance out of them. Also good HIDs and reflectors add up pretty damn fast especially if you are running 5 or more of them.

I loved my converted Hella 700ff's...until I bought actual HID lights (and I have the cheap chinese shit). By comparison, I hate converted Hellas now.

i found that there was a huge variance between conversions of different lights. i tried the hellas, but turns out that the $50 per pair 5.5'' lights at the autoparts store (pilot i think?) have a much better reflector for a conversion that can throw longer distances. they put out a very similar beam and intensity as my kragen style HID driving beams. the Kragen spot in the center of my bumper on the other hand trumps everything else i the truck.

Yeah I'm running HIDx lights which are just Kragen red rings...but with black rings. I think I payed 80 bucks each at the time. The "Euro" pattern is a little different but is perfect for my needs. I like the high intensity flood at mid range and decent spot at farther distances.

There there...it'll be ok. Do you need a hug?
I didn't even sell you my old lights that were on my truck. The one's I gave you never even saw dirt. My buddy converted those and I think they are the Hella 500s? Either way...you couldn't beat the price! Better than no lights. ;)

interesting. But kinda makes sense with a reflector designed to handle the light output as opposed to the 55w halogen bulb.

Im still happy with them and see no big reason to upgrade them..yet.

So if you pull up to a wall, it's easier to tell. But do your 500's make an elongated V shape?

I'm just messing around. Thanks again for the deal, and yes, it'll be way better than night 'froading with only low beams.
Once I get all my tools and a new bumper, they're going on:cool:

The high end Hellas are amazing. We have a family friend in Georgia who is a hella rep. He said next time I can make it by, I can get anything I want at cost. Figure about 2 grand should replace my 9 lights and have me well on my way to lighting the atmosphere on fire :D
