If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. I purchased a leveling kit from a local shop here and had them install it. It's 3" front and 1" back. When I purchased it I asked the guy at the shop if it would make the ride harsh and he assured me it wouldn't. I feel the ride has really become awful and I'm going to go back to the shop to see if they will work with me. Before I do that I want to make sure I'm well informed and this site has been great for that. Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do to make the ride better? UCA's? Springs? Remove the lift? etc. Thanks in advance.

I just called him and he said it's a spacer leveling kit. I explained to him about the ride difference he is telling me that it shouldn't have changed the ride at all because all they did was put a "hat" on the spacer and didn't change spring compression or anything.

You think he is bull crapping me?

I've not heard the hat story before. We need Oz-t's opinion here. I know he is lurking out there. I would be interested to hear his thoughts.

Your ride is harsher because you are basically preloading the coilover. Yes the so called hat spacer or whatever he wants to call it is just your typical spacer.

Yes, I'm running 1-1/4" spacers. I wanted a little wider stance. I didn't want to go to big with the lift and tires because of my two little kids and short wife. lol. And the N-Fab steps made the stock tacoma look even lower. At least now there's a use for the steps.
