HID lights and 2013 Tacomas

i'm a new Tacoma owner and am wondering about the HID lights, specifically if they'll work in my 2013? I've been looking through the threads, but haven't seen anything about my model year and these light set ups.

is it possible? i've not found a lot of aftermarket HID kits for the 2013's either.

If you're going to throw HID's in your truck, do it the right way so you don't blind the shit out of everyone else on the road. Stock reflector headlights are not meant to have HID's installed in them and will result in a large amount of light scatter and glare.

Pugga - thanks for the tip. I've been reading that if done wrong, they make it hell for oncoming traffic...that is NOT my goal. just to have a better lighting system, since my eyes seem to work better at night with a white light, than the 'yellow' of a halogen bulb.

 

Get a projector kit from theretrofitsource. They have ongoing groupbuys here to save you some cash. Go with 4300k or 5000k temperature bulbs. If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, there are members (ambiguous, AsianAnt) that do retrofits and sell them.

 

I am old, but I think it means "Plug and Play"... ie. very little effort to convert and no new headlight housing. As others have said, don't do that... get a true projector complete headlight made for HID... or see about LED... the NEW kid on the block!

I've found these (http://www.anzousa.com/headlights/toyota-tacoma-05-11-projector-h-l-black-clear-amber-ccfl.html) and i'm wondering if anyone has used them on a 2013 Tacoma...i realize there is a fit issue...but i'm sure someone here has forgone the "issue" and installed them anyway.

 

Not sure if anyone gave you a solid answer yet to your post, but no those will not work for your '13

the 2012+ had the facelift version and if you wanted to fit those you would have to convert your front end to the pre-facelift version of the 2nd gen meaning new hood, fenders, headlights, grill, etc.

Personally im waiting a little bit longer for some black housing Depo's to come out before i retrofit my '13.

 

Those headlights are for 05-11.
