    That price is absurd. $500 AND your flat hood in trade? I bought mine & be it painted for less & now have a perfectly good OEM flat hood for sale for $200.

    how much did you spend on it total? I'm expecting a certifit hood and scoop and paint is around 400ish, but this is a 2012-2013, so I don't actually know if it's available

    I found an OEM hood on Craigslist for $200 and I think I paid like $250 to have it painted.

    Hoods in Florida are more expensive because they have to put on a special coating due to the humid air. Humid air will rust out metal faster.
