any recommendations on what I should get for a new set of rear leaf springs and front suspension? Right now theres squeaking coming from the truck and I think its either my leafs in the rear and/or my front suspension, I dont think its really doing any harm to the truck, I just dont want something breaking THEN having to spend money on getting new stuff

I was thinking about getting the long travel kit from allpro offroad and add on the coil overs that they have available but do those allow a spacer to be put on? because I have a 3" RC suspension lift and its got a strut extension up front...dont know if it will be able to be put on

then with the leaf springs...any after market leafsprings that dont give any lift? I already have a 3" suspension lift, I just want to replace the leafs with new ones

If you are looking at a 2+ LT kit, then look at Total Chaos' one. It's engineered much better than AP.

I'd recommend the AP Expo leaf spring (thats what I eventually want to get) and remove the block from the lift kit

I have come to the conclusion that pretty much all tacoma leafs squeak. Just turn up the radio a bit.

Pully to the ceiling, secure winch to ground, have Kyle winch it up and you bolt in place.

    Foolproof

Just make sure your not under it...this combination of ideas could lead to a nice bumper landing on you.

If you have blocks or AALs, then it'd be best to get leaf springs with a 2.5-3" arch and get rid of the blocks/AALs if you're going to get springs anyway.

As for the squeaking, as I understand it, this is pretty much a common thing with Tacos. The only way to really get rid of it is to keep your suspension lubed and maybe get greaseable shackles for the rear (still have to keep between the leaves lubed with something if you do a lot of wheeling).

My last taco (2009 prerunner) rear leaf shackles squeeked

My current (2010 4x4) didnt squeek when i got it with 19k miles
But after it hit the first muddy water, the rear shackles began squeeking.

I put a little white lithium grease on them every so often, and it tames the squeek

lookin at the TC LT kit, that one comes with new coilovers?, looks like it does

so getting the new leafs pretty much means getting rid of my 2" lift blocks, and the new leafs should provide the same 2" lift,

pretty much what im understanding thats what it will do

If the new springs have a bigger arch than stock spec springs, then yeah. But yes, getting rid of the blocks if definitely a good idea if you're getting new springs. Blocks cause excessive axle wrap because they give the axle extra leverage on the springs. Axle wrap could lead to wheel hop, which leads to broken driveline parts.

ok ya, im gonna go with taking the blocks out then lol, but it would still be ok to keep the strut extensions up in front? and if I got the new coilovers with the LT kit, would I be able to keep those spacers?

if you go with new coilovers and LT, you do not want to have the spacers in place. a 2+ LT setup will give you plenty of lift anyway.

ahh ok, ya I just wondering about that, because I didnt want the lift to be uneven and I still wanted to maintain the 3" lift if not a little higher

kind of a waste of money for me buying that RC lift, oh well, I know what to look for now in the future, Ill prob be able to sell that lift relatively easily, ive only had it on my truck for about month and half, still pretty new

but this is what you're talking about with the 2+ LT kit right?

You have to buy the coilovers separately

exactly. like tony said, you need new coilovers anyway, so you'll just get the ones that fit without the need for a spacer.

oohhh ok, that makes way more sense now, any suggestions on coilovers then?

I apologize for all the questions, I have never dealt with vehicles until my buying my taco, which was my first vehicle, so pretty new with all of this after market and offroading parts and actually putting the parts on, trying to understand what is what and which is actually better to get

so essentially getting lets say since that LT kit provides a 3-4in lift, get coilovers that provide that 3 to 4in lift? then get matching leafs providing 3-4in lift so the truck is level? thats what im kinda getting from it

Downsouth Motorsports is a good place to buy the Total Chaos kit from. If you call them up, they can walk you through what you'll need for the front as far as the new coilovers go. it's not just a factory coilover that you can crank higher, it's an actual longer shock.

then for the rear, you'll be best off with a 3'' leaf pack. 1) you don't want that LT kit to be cranked up to the max height of 4 inches, or it will ride extremely stiff, which defeats the purpose of the kit anyway. 2) a 3'' pack with that LT will have you nice and level. a 4'' pack will give you a little rake (not a bad thing, just sounds like you want to be more level)

depending on what look you're going for, you may want to look at fiberglass front fenders as well.
