Silverado wheels on Tacoma

Hey everyone. I traded in my 2004 Silverado for my 2013 Tacoma a few months back. I kept the snow tires, mounted on a set of Silverado 17" aluminum wheels.

The Taco has the same sized tires and wonder if I should expect any issues using these wheels on the Taco?

For looks I don't really want to be driving around for 5 months with Chevy wheels, but then it would be cheaper than buying steelies and having the tires remounted.

What do you think? Issues with using these wheels, and aesthetic comments appreciated.

Have you tried to put them on the Tacoma? If they fit and do not rub, there should be on issue.

 

I thought the center bore on Chevys was smaller or vice versa.

 

The lug pattern is the same but if I remember correctly the hubs are different on the GM wheels.

Yeah, iirc you can go Toyota to Chevy, but not the other way unless you have the center bore enlarged.

 

I had the same truck! Mine was a 99 z71 black step side, I miss that truck!!!!

Ya it was a great truck. It had the small V8, lots of power, no major issues over the 9 years I owned it. Only had 120000k when I traded it in. Hopefully it's in good hands!

 

I have basically the same Chevy truck('03 Silvy 4x4 rcsb), and was thinking of making a Tacoma TRD 4x4 as my next truck. Just curious how u like the taco compared to your old Chevy???

 

I know the old school toys and chevy wheels swapped with no issues at all. But with factory wheels these days, I couldn't say. But, if I were you, and had them laying around already mounted up, I would take the time to try it. The cost of even some cheap wheels and mounting is worth a little time to see if you can save some coin for something else.

I myself just came from a 1997 chevy ext cab short bed Z71 that I had driven since new. I bought my DC SB a few weeks ago and so far I'm loving it. I have a 350 vortec in the 97, and so far, the power to weight ratio of both trucks feels very on par.

Nice truck!

I'm pretty happy with the new truck. Things I like better so far are the BT audio, backup cam, heated leather seats, 6spd manual, more useful bed (yes, even though its shorter), extra space (DC vs RC)and how its narrower for off road use on trails and forest roads.

What I miss is the power! The small V8 had a lot of gusto. Miss sitting a bit higher up, and the Chev was a lot quieter.

I drove my Chev for almost 9 years, was still in great shape when I traded it in. Hoping to get at least that long out of this new truck.

I'm sure you'd be happy with a Tacoma, but like me, might miss the Chevy once you get rid of it. Good Luck!
