Imagine that I was walking by a house. It's your house. And it is on fire. Now I'm not talking about a little fire. I'm talking about huge flames barreling up out of every window, and thick, black smoke from every roof shingle burning. And as I am walking by I hear someone faintly calling. It's one of your kids, and they are standing at the last untouched window. And I just keep walking by. I don't call 911. I don't run over to help get them out. I just put my hands in my pockets and keep walking.

How would you feel? You would probably be unbelievably angry at me.

I am warning you now that there is a fire coming. And once anyone is in it, it's too late. The Bible talks a lot about a fire. An eternal fire big enough for everyone in the entire world if need be.

But there is another place. A place that is as awesome as hell is bad, a complete 180 degrees opposite. A place with no more tears, no more hurt, no more suffering. The place is in the presence of God. And it too could fit all the billions of people of the world.

You might tell me today that God is a loving God, and that He would never send anyone to hell. Or you might tell me that you are a pretty good person. You believe in God, you go to church sometimes, and you haven't done anything real bad. So you should go to heaven.

But one sin is all it takes to spend an eternity in hell. One lie, one thought of lust, one act of hate. The Bible says that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." It doesn't say that we come short of the pope, or Billy Graham, or President Barrack Obama. We miss God's mark of perfection. God has set the standard, not us. So because we all are sinners, we all deserve to be separated from God forever.

That is why Jesus came to earth. He took our punishment. "For the wages (punishment) of sin is death (hell), but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." It is a free gift, available to everyone in the entire world, that just needs to be accepted. If someone gives you a birthday gift, you don't have to pay for it. You don't have to try to earn it somehow. You just take it. God's free gift of salvation is here, and all you have to do is accept it.

Since the title of the thread is "A question for you", here is my question:

If you were to wreck your beautiful, modded Tacoma today (God forbid), and you died, where would you go? Do you have peace with God? Would you spend an eternity in hell because you are a sinner? or would you be in the presence of God forever because you asked Jesus to wipe away all your sins?

Please ask Jesus to save you today. Just say, "Jesus, I am a sinner. I can't get to heaven by myself. Please save me. Wipe away all my sins so that I can be with you forever." You can PM me with any questions or if you want me to pray for you.

As a Christian, I am not perfect. I mess up every single day. I just have to rely on God to point out my sin and help me to get it out of my life. So since this is the "Prayers & Support" section, I am praying for all of you. I am praying that you will accept His free gift today. All you have to do is ask Him. If you do this, please PM me. I would love to hear from you so that I can pray for you.

The gift of Jesus Christ is the best gift I ever have received. I stand beside you steelerfan7p to pray for any heart that might be receptive to the message you've given of the free gift of salvation available to all of us.

This is the best gift. Most people who think of a gift think of something that will last for a few days, or in time will fade away, or over the years will change in style, or be the in thing.
This gift never changes and been the same since day one and will last until I am taken away.
It is a gift that is true, deeply heart touched, and no matter what happens it will not be taken from you.
This is a gift that is free for the taking, all's one needs to do is ask.

At times in my life when things have been the toughest, (past 2 1/2 years, Ben knows this too well) you feel the gift is gone or has left you. but it hasn't you have just put your eyes on something else.

The gift is a time in your life you will never forget, a date, year, or time that no matter what you will never forget. A gift that 10, 20, 30, etc years from now that still will bring a tear to your eyes, just like it did the first day you received it.

I whole hearted agree with the above posts, the gift ties everyone together.

I received my gift in June 1982.

Thanks guys for your posts. Maybe if anyone else wants to chime in and say when they received that gift also. I asked Jesus to save me on Mother's Day 2002. My wife did so on Sept. 26, 2006. Anyone else?

Although I don't really go to church any more, i still believe in God and thank him every day.

Here is a cliche teenager anecdote for you. Last summer I went through a tough break up. It was not my first break up, or my first difficult break up, but it was by far the hardest. I prayed (as I do rarely) for God to either let me stay with the girl or break up for good and help me find someone else. After a few months of torturing ourselves by being together, but not officially, I decided to end it for good. It was hard to do but much easier in the long run.

Now I am with my best friend of many years, an I couldn't be happier. I knew I shouldn't pray for or force myself to be with someone if he didn't intend, so I let things out of my hands and just lived my life and it all worked out!

yes i am also a christian...without God in my life i really wouldn't have any reason to keep looking forward...He is my only hope of anything good ever happening in my life...or after this life...lol.....i still have a long way to go....change is a hard thing when most people are unwilling to do it in this world...we all know what to do...it's just doing it consistently that is the hard thing....we all screw up and we all are screw ups....lol....that's why we need God to get us back on track and to get us heading in the right direction....i really don't understand how people live without Him in their lives....i guess they don't stop to think about it very much....or maybe cuz doing the right thing isn't the easy thing to do so people just give up....we all need encouragement and help along the way...i know i do

I ask for his forgiveness each and every day because never will I be as perfect as he is. My relationship with Jesus is very personal as I know of no other man that, knowing of his impending death, stayed on His God given course and died for me. His Grace gives me faith and his resurrection took away my fears of death. Amen Steelerfan...Peace to all my Brothers.

if you did not save the child in the burning house absolutely nothing would happen to you, which brings me to a question: where the F$$k is god or jesus in this senerio? This kid would be f$$ked with or without god and jesus, sh$t happens. I think these statements are just as valid as your thread and if it hurts your feelings, get over it! the verbage on your thread is no different than mine (opinion) and if one does not post this (you know who you are) then I guess freedom of speech (thread) is selective. :crapstorm:

same here. i dont believe in religions, but do believe there is a higher power out there. i believe the bible was once filled with more truth than it has now. its sadly become watered down with all the religions changing and adding things to make it more beneficial to themselves. and tac00, chris said it best, your a douche.

IMO there is no God or devil there is no heaven nor hell,do the right things for the right reasons and good things should happen. It is just a belief, a thought,a idea,a crutch to lean on.(show me some solid truth)

Who are you saying is "smarter than you mr. bag"?? You???

IF you were smarter, you would know better than to join a forum where the majority of people DO NOT think the way you do about religion.

We do not believe the way you do and we will not change just because you don't believe in GOD.
