Maybe, but I doubt it. I had a new set made by a local suspension shop.

Was just wondering how these are holding up for you TMill AND if anyone else has installed them. I just picked up a new Sport/Quad cab/long bed a few days ago. I too am looking for increased bed weight capacity with minimal lift. From your pics, the lift in the rear looks fine. I was going to wait until the spring to do this but I figure it might be easier to get the old springs off while everything is new. My '14 has 4 leafs..but I am truly surprised at how flat the springs are with no load! It looks like they would tolerate very little payload weight. DId any of you have any issues with brake lines, etc. I do see where a line or two is mounted via a bracket onto the springs. THanks for any info!

 

No complaints with mine. I installed them back in March or April. I think the rear was sitting just a hair higher initially, but they settled reasonably fast.

 

I am considering these springs and noticed they are not left/right specific and wondered how bad the driver's side lean is after they settled and are you running any spacers or a lift block to compensate?

How much more weight are you able to haul comfortably vs stock?

Any vibration or other mechanical issues you feel they caused?

Just ordered some of these for my mom's '07 for Christmas. I'll let you guys know how they are.

 

The standard springs that General offers are left/right specific. I had asked about why the HD springs weren't left/right specific before I ordered mine and IIRC they just told me that the heavier springs would compensate for the lean without needing different springs for each side. I wasn't that concerned about it anyway.

I would say the lean on mine is better than it was stock, but I could be wrong. I did not use any spacers or blocks or anything. Couldn't tell you how much more weight I'm able to haul really, but it did make a difference. I find if I fill the bed with firewood the rear isn't sagging as much as it used to. I did occasionally bottom out with the stock springs, haven't had that trouble with the new ones, but I can't really say for sure that that's why. I actually haven't been using my truck as much since installing these springs.

When I first installed them, I did experience a little drive-line vibration or shudder. I was afraid I was going to have to unbolt things and install some shims. But fortunately that problem went away after the springs settled a bit, which didn't take long.

The only reason I replaced the stock springs is because I had one break. Figured while I was replacing them, I might as well install something a little heavier than the stock springs since it was a known issue that they were weak. And I thought General's price was good. Bottom line, I would buy them again for sure.

 

So far so good. A little bit stiffer than stock but my stock springs also laid flat with no load. It seems like they have settled a bit but I will check and see how much. I can throw my Sportsman 500 in the back and it still sits pretty level.

 

I just spoke with General Spring. Explained my situation that I have stock 4(3/1) leaf on my 2014. They told me that I have the upgraded spring option that Toyota offers. I don't see it as an option anywhere on my vehicle description. He mentioned that Toyota start placing these springs on some vehicles starting in 2012. If I go with the General spring HD spring, he mentions that I should get approx. 15-20% increase in my load capacity. Anybody out there with a newer Tacoma (2012) familiar with this spring option? I'm wondering if it's going to be worth my while to replace my factory springs with this option. I suppose I could go even more heavy duty by another manufacturer BUT I don't want to increase my rear end lift by 3" or greater. Thanks for any input.

 

Subbed, i was looking at general springs for my 1 ton dump truck

 

So the springs were pretty good, install had one hiccup though. The bushings were about 1/8" narrower than what was in the OEM leaf pack so I had to jam some washers in there to make up the gap. Kinda annoying but other than that they seem nice. Lifted the truck about 2".

 

OP......Anything else I need with these? I think I'm going to give them a shot.

 

Had the HDs installed @ the beginning of the week because my stock rear passenger side snapped (non TSB). I had new U bolts made at a local spring shop. The ride does feel slightly different but its not as harsh as I thought it would be. I haven't measured but I'd say it was up on both sides at least 2.5". After 3 days of driving and ~180 miles its only come down slightly. I'm happy so far. I'll check back after it settles a little more and when I haul some pellets to see how much it makes a difference with a load in the back.

 

Thanks for the info. Are you guessing on the lift amount or did you measure? These are supposed to be low lift and that's approaching Dakar territory.

I put these same springs on my 05 in August (broken driver side spring). I love the ride and firmness of them! My truck feels brand new.

 

Here's a side shot. Weird angle but you can see the rake in it. This was a week or so ago. They've come down a little more.

As you can see in after photo, the height difference in the shocks from the sticker to the blue shield on the top portion of the shock. I didn't measure before install from top of tires to bottom of rear fender. Dunno if using shock is right way to measure but as I said they've come down about an inch more from the after picture here. I'll post another 'shock shot' later (taken today, 2 weeks after install).
