There's a reason serious offroad trucks don't have IFS with a bolt-on lift.
Your friend has found out why.

Cut the small end of the boot loose from its clamp and just use zip ties lightly tugged down to keep the small end closed somewhat on the shaft. You want it to slip on the shaft and not be anchored. At that angle he's gonna go thru stock axles anyways because it is outside of the design parameters, so not a big loss.

I must admit, I like straight axles better, just because of the simplicity, ease and strength, but you should probably look at a lot of the rigs that compete in the King of the Hammers and re-think that statement.

Built vs. Fabtech = invalid comeback. I don't think anyone in the King of the Hammers is running a Fabtech drop bracket.

For the Op tell him to take that spacer out sorry but problem solved.

    Bingo.

The H1 Alpha has 4-wheel IS and does quite well, but the half-shafts do not enter the center of the spindle.

With a 6" Fabtec and 2" spacers, he's still going to be replacing boots and CVs every year or two.

8" of lift?? On 4WD nonetheless. Was that really necessary? As if the 6" DB want enough.

Well like Rich said IFS isn't supposed to go that high. If he wants to stop blowing boots and keep the full 8" he'll need a body lift which normally I wouldn't suggest but seeing as how it's not much of an off road rig anyway, it might just be up his alley
