I have varying degrees of happiness.
Like right now, with the truck torn apart and just sitting in the shop, its no fun. Once I have everything and start building it'll get better and when its done, well, thats party time.

So while its all stripped down inside, is there anything I should be doing thats way easier with no interior?
I'll most likely be doing a bunch of sound dampening, and maybe new speakers.

Any recommendations on what stuff to get?
And I plan on doing the floors, walls, doors. Anyone ever do the roof?
I'll see how much its going to cost and that might determine how much I do:rolleyes:
EDIT: Dynamat of some sort. Xtreme maybe?

Layer of that with a layer of ensolite foam and you'll be crusing as quiet as a caddy

How much of a difference did it make? Worth tearing it apart?? If so I might add that too the never ending list of mods to do....

Its different for everyone I think. I had probably an inch of play in my steering wheel, almost scary on the freeway. Doing this deffinetly helped, but there is still a little bit of play at the connection to the rack. But it took the really sloppy play out. You can reach under the steering column and grab the lower part of the slip joint then shake the wheel back and forth to see how much play is in yours.

Here's the write up I followed. Read the post to know whats going on, then as stated in the first post, there's a slightly easier way around post 43-45 (dont remember) to take apart the steering.

So while the interior is apart, I went ahead and got these.

And yes, this will get installed someday, just like everything else.
The bender finally showed up so I'll get that setup this weekend, then I'm going to lock myself in the shop for a while

Hard to go wrong with JL!
I've got a 500 slash amp in my tundra and two w3 10's and I'll warn you...it's more amp than speaker. Good bass songs and it'll start to smell like sharpie!

Yeah, I was deciding between the 250 and the 500, so I just went with 500
The speakers should clean up songs a lot too I hope.

Yeah the 500 is solid man. Seriously, you'll have to tune it down a little bit. The subs will not keep up.

I'll keep that in mind  I really don't want to break things.
Also the warranty is void if you go over 300 watts with the subs. Don't know how they tell though...

Well my rear wall panels are off so I figured I'd do the rear speakers... And the subs will be harder to do later, should do those too... And the wiring will be nicer now... And down the rabbit hole we go

When the voice coils melt (the sharpie smell)...that's when it's void. :D
