Gathering some parts. Chevy 63's and ruff stuff swap kit

 

I just ordered my rear armor tech high clearance wrap around bumper. It is on sale right now so I couldn't pass it up. I am having them fab it with the wrap around panels 2" shorter than normal to accommodate my future 35's and wheel well trim.

 

I am starting to fab up my outrigger brackets for the rear.

 

Just ordered my new rubber and install will be happening on 9/11. Went with pro comp 31570R17 MT2. Ill have to do some major trimming in the next two weeks.

 

Striking some lines to chop. 3" off the front and 2" off the rear. (THE REAR CUT ON THE FENDERS IS NOT NECESSARY IF YOU HAVE A LIFT. I DID THIS PRE CHEVY SWAP)

 

How much lift do you have?
How much of the fenders are you trimming?

 

I have a 3" procomp coil lift up front and nothing on the rear. I am trimming 2" out of the rear fenders and 3" on the front. There will definitely be trimming of the frame to body mount and front panels. Ill post progress pics.

 

I'm not cutting my plastic flares first. I'm going to cut the inner body panels and then see how that fits with the 35's and I can adjust cutting more or less on the flares. No turning back now.

 

I just picked up my offset brackets and freshly welded ruff stuff 63" swap kit. Sweeet!! For anybody with a 05+ Tacoma wanting to do a Chevy springs swap kit I have the dimensions attached in a pic.

I finished flattening my pinch welds and plastidipping my wheel wells in prep for 315's. I was planning on putting the flares back on but I might just put some door trim on the edges and run it like that. Without the flares it gives the appearance of a wider stance.

 

Today I partially debadged and took off my rear bumper in preparation of my 63 Chevy swap. I'm getting pumped.

 

I decided to plastidip this morning after a surf. Turned out good.

 

I just ordered my sliders from 4x innovations with kickout. My tires are getting installed on the 23rd and then off to any7offroad to do the chevy 63 swap and possible shock upgrade.

How did you make the cut on your fenders look so good? Sure hope my turn out like that!

 

I used a combination square to scribe the exact same radius and cut with a jigsaw with a metal blade. Near the botom of the panels it gets tight so I used a 4 1/2" grinder with metal cutoff wheel. I have a little vid on my instagram if you wanted to look at it. Make sure to tape off the area so the little metal flakes don't scratch the paint.
