I had posted this picture the other day. I mounted the plug here so I can use it inside or still be able to use it outside. That way I don't have to open my hood to use the winch.

You guys tried that 3m eraser wheel? It's awesome.

 

I officially have a functioning winch. Very happy with the way it all turned out. Tomorrow I might work on installing my fogs.

 

The wut?

 

It's a rubber eraser type wheel that goes in a drill that removes double sided tape and stuff. It's pretty bad ass. I have 2 in my tool box

 

O0o0o0oh! That sounds very convenient. I'll have to get one to remove that stupid label off of my hilift handle.

well i am in pensacola and already on the forum over there. got a 08 dbl cab rugged trail. looking for a roof basket...anyone know of one?

Colin did you put the spec ride bushings in your ucas?

 

if that's what the new polyurethane style ones are called, yeah. i rebuilt them with new bushings and the new style balljoints last summer.

 

How did you remove the old bushings? I got my new ones in and I'm getting ready to put them in.

hack saw/sawzall, torch, and a hammer.

i burned out the old steel sleeve with a torch. then sawzalled the bushing sleeve (go slow and be careful with that part), then hammered the sleve out of the arm. clean up the arm, put a little dish soap in the arm and on the new bushing, and then press it in.

 

chris was the first person i saw do the install and has a good writeup. i actually took the entire inner metal sleve out before taking the sawzall to it, but either method works.

you want to take it slow so you don't cut into the arm, so budget some good time for it.

thanks. just bought it 2 weeks ago, just trying to find a bed rack system that is half way up the rear window. but looks like im gonna have to build one.
