nice, anything frame/cage/tab/bracket related from them will outlast whatever you weld it to. every time i get something from them i them, overbuilt is the first thing that comes to mind when i take it out of the box. "average" and "sufficient" doesn't seem to be their way of doing things :)

Some goodies came in the mail while i was away for the weekend :

new y-pipe from DT (going to be so happy when my truck doesn't sound like a weedeater anymore), and an ARB 9000 block from the group buy that Linwood was kind enough to set up

Gotta say, the snatch block is more than i expected. absulitely huge. it'll make a nice compliment to my smitty block for those retarded situations can't seem to avoid.

Should fix all of my leaks, and fingers cross, but it does appear that it will fit around my skids without any modification :)

sumbitch lol. yeah, DT pipebomb. i did all of the research i could about it and the clearance, but i think you started popping into this thread a few weeks after i ordered it. general concensus is that it hits relentless/ato style transfer case skids, but may clear the all-pro. i modified my all pro for better clearance, but not in the area of concerned.

Colin, did you spray your wheels with bedliner? If so, what kind of prep did you do? Sand and clean?

exactly. cleaned them with soap/water, let them dry real well, skuffed up the clearcoat, and then wiped them down with some alcohol.

i used rustoleum bedliner too if you haven't made a decision yet. i like the texture a little better than the duplicolor version. i felt like the duplicolor was too smooth and had a higher gloss to it.

there are a couple guys running the PB with a fully plate style transfercase skid, they just had to shave the skid down a little, or get the PB altered.

hankooks are great so far. they did well in the rain we had here today. quiet too, compared to the Guard dogs i had on. thought there isn't really a point since so many other parts of my truck make loud noises.......

Thanks! I already use rustoleum on the sliders, skids, and soon to be rear bumper. I have a project for this weekend now.

in my case, it should help the sound a lot lol, but that's because of the terrible shape my current pipe is in

So is clearance part of the reason for choosing the DT over the URD? I vaguely remember this conversation when you were deciding but forgot. haha Take some pics of it installed I want to see the skid clearance since my skid is still a one-off custom.

yep, clearance was the issue with the urd. It goes under the transmission pan, instead of out and around the transfer case. so no only are you heating your transmission up, but it hangs very low, to the point that i wouldn't be surprised if it hit a standard style transmission skid. I have the all pro tranny skid, which is a much higher clearance skid, to the point that i literally don't have any scratches on it, so i could have run the URD, but it would be destroyed after the first wheeling trip.

I've never actually seen a pic of the 4wd URD y-pipe so I had no idea it ran under the tranny... That would be tight...

Maybe Tor or Colton will hop in here and correct me if i'm wrong, but to my knowledge, the 2wd one crosses over in the space that the transfer case occupys on the 4x4s. so with the transfer case in the way, they took the 4x4 pipe under the tranny to keep from having to make that 180 degree bend that the pipe bomb has.

routing it under the transmission is still better clearance than the factory one going inder the transfer case, but both are still pretty bad as far as ground clearance and skid interferance go.

I've been debating just doing a custom exhaust and rather than having a y-pipe just run both sides straight back individually. The drivers side turn down may be short because of the fuel tank, but maybe by that time I will be running a fuel cell in the bed or something and won't have to worry about that. haha. That will be after I'm boosted though. I hear the motor has some bad low end power loss when you open up the exhaust why still N/A. For now I'll just keep the OEM stuff on there I guess. It's already pretty beat up though. haha

again, not my area of specialty, but there may be a signifficance to having the crossover, linking the two sides. similar to adding an x pipe to equalize bressure between sides. i'd talk to someone more knowledgable about it before running the two sides independant from one another, jsut in case.

if you ever wheel alone, get two snatch blocks. that was the motivation behind the purchase. just so happened that linwood got a group buy going for this one in particular.
