Nope nothing bad at all. Just discussing people's dealings with getting a TW sticker.

I said I usually got mine in 3-4 weeks and Gear Head said that he's been asking for one since he joined. Don't see what was delete-able about that?

Lol okay anyways. When is a re-gear necessary? I'll be switching to 285s here in a day or two.... I doubt I'll need to with a 5-speed but back to my initial question, when is it necessary? Pros of doing it/Cons of putting it off?

Honestly in my opinion it isn't worth spending that much money on it unless you go 35's or bigger.

When switching to a 33" tire the gains of gearing enough to bring it near stock is too much money in my opinion. This is all for daily driving purposes for me.

The almighty Bob has spoken! :D

I knew if we talked about it enough we'd get an explanation or pm...

Re-gearing essentially just gives you more power, or giddy up-- correct? I've heard from a few people you really only need to re-gear when upping your tires if you have an auto tranny..

Waiting for Monte to show up. We just had a conversation about this in his build thread.

Manuals are geared lower than auto's. lower gearing, which means higher numbers, means that your driveshaft has to make less revolutions to turn the tires one full revolution.

With me being an auto with 33x12.50x15's on steelies, I don't see any point in me regearing to 4:88's because I'm still happy with the power and mpg's I have. I also plan on going with bigger tires as well.

4.56s would bring your power back. You won't notice it with just the tires. But if you get lots of armor and gear..you'll want them.

If you have driven 4.88s..you want them haha bring the truck back to life.

But as I just said, you won't notice is without full armor and such. I didn't till about the time I pul my bed rack on. Now it's a dog to drive around town. Can't wait to regear. Even though I'm putting on 35s, my truck will be more peppy then it is now.

I'll just do 5:29's and a supercharger for when I get 35's then...

I drove around with 285s geared with the stock 4.10s for awhile on my manual. It is do-able and bearable. I actually changed my driving habits, less rabbit starts off the line simply because hammering the stupid pedal was a lost cause. Getting above 2k RPMs, the zip would come back.

I used getting a front locker as an excuse to go to 4.56 since I'd be dropping the front 3rd anyways. Definitely appreciated getting some of the low RPM zip back.

Out with the old. (Shredded 4.10s)

    IMAG0727_27ec8984dd37df560443d97bbacd706dc3383aef.jpg

And in with the new. (ECGS 4.88s)

    IMAG0738_f0a5d4ad426bfdbe92db850507715920d8501863.jpg

The swap took about two hours, with me taking my time and spending about 30 minutes cleaning the housing out. I went for my first 'break-in' drive and while i was being very hesitant with the gas, the 'get up and go' was far, far better than with the 4.10s. I'm pretty stoked.

I ran past one of those 'Your Speed is:' radar signs on a local road and noticed with an Automatic v6, 33x10.5x15 KM2's and 4.88s - 40mph on the speedo is 35 mph - 34 mph on the speedo is 30mph. Someone mentioned being able to re-gear the speedo somewhere that isnt a pain in the butt to get too... going to look in to that.

Damn there was a whole Article on TTORA for that with PN#..but they got rid of the tech/faq area so..idk what it is anymore.

Is it just me or has TTORA gone downhill a lot lately?
