Some guy up the street does this all the time. He's almost hit me leaving the curb. Doesn't look, just stabs the gas.

California's laws can stay on the other side of the country, far away from me. They have some very stupid restrictions and the majority of that garbage wouldn't fly so well over here.
Too many things to list, but just a few things are gun laws, emissions, and the fact that lightbulbs are know to cause cancer over there.

Also, I don't believe that parking on the the side of a hill classifies one as an idiot, that is quite far fetched.

You haven't lived here before have you? Where you live is quite different - quiet and peaceful - from having to be afraid for your life just because you decide to wear red that day. Or from having to teach your kid that the number one thing you do when you hear anything that sounds like a firecracker is to lay flat on the ground. Or having to breathe in the bad air from all of the traffic and the factories. And the fact that just because you live in a certain town, you WILL get cancer and nobody knows why...

Would love to live a day where I don't have to worry about that kind of crap for the sake of my kids.

But it's too late now. I'm old. I can't afford to live any where else. And if I die because of where I live, so be it. It's happening anyway. It's happened to all of my family.

WTF kind of sense does that make? Dude parked like that knowing he was in the wrong. Why should a LEO have to sit around and wait for him to tell him? Same goes for all parking tickets.
There's a boat ramp here with trailer only parking. Problem is that there is a restaurant next door. People park illegally in boat ramps spots and go eat. You expect the officer to sit around and wait for them to finish their dinner?

What about illegal parking at airports. You want the officer to wait there all week until they return to have a "verbal discussion"?

Sure, maybe decades ago the police could treat each possible wrong doing case by case to evaluate any reason for their action, but with the ever growing population and constant wrong doing they came up with these rules called "laws" to control the masses from doing dumb shit. You park in the wrong place, you get a ticket. Pretty cut and dry system

WRONG. If I thought that would have resulted in a ticket I would not have done it end of story. I don't try and make a habit out of getting stupid and avoidable tickets.

Whoa, getting shot for wearing a color? All of that sounds pretty rough right there.
Heh, pretty minor stuff I don't have to worry about.
    ;)
Oh ok, your right that is dumb. I thought we were pointing fingers here and calling people idiots for minor, first time, ill informed decisions.

I'm sure somewhere there are a list of rules for this area, one of them that tells you to park in parking spots only or stay in designated traffic areas.

Common sense should of prevailed though, and told you that where you parked wasn't a designated parking spot or traffic area. When you go to the store, do you park on the sidewalk, curb, grassy area, etc...? No, you park in these neat little things referred to as "spots" in the designated parking area. Same difference.
