I might be able to make it - but don't wait for me to get there before starting to drink beer. ;-)

I know! I always lurk around when I can but I am always a bit hesitant to post because I'm trying to learn without sounding like a jagoff, lol

No, I did'nt get there Chris. I have been really busy with the American Fire here on the Tahoe and with the Rim near Yosemite. We've been spread thin this summer. So much forced OT that we are exhausted and done, please rain LOL

You are so right!Thank You! I am a bit of an introvert and I dont always know if I should say anything. BTW... Nice job calling out the crazy lurker dude!! I could never imagine being such an A#$$%^$(!

I really appreciate and respect you all on here!! Thanks for your help

Hope you guys get a break, all of you guys have been ass-kickers this season, I watched from 15 miles away, fire teams fighting the Morgan fire from coming up over the top and going north down into a lot of houses, the mountain was backlit from the fire at night. If the wind picked up they all would have been killed as there would have been no way to get away from it fast enough. Straight through the night those guys did 24 hours straight up there. The fire tore ass up the south side like a fuckin chimney, extremely fast fire, tripled in size in about 12 hours, luckily the winds were light but the heat and the fuel load was ferocious. It topped 3300 acres by the time they lined it but if it had been windy, it could have destroyed thousands of homes and there would have been no way to stop it as the area hasn't burned in like 25-30 years. It would have been a Rim Jr 'cept with thousands of people living all around it.

We would'nt do it if we did'nt love it! My brother is Alameda Fire and the the other is Reno FD. My dad and grampa built the Richmond training tower. 5 generations and two family members LODD on the memorial wall in Sac from bay area. So proud that I decided to follow my father but in the woods! I now outrank my brothers!! Ive seen much more fire!
