    Yah but the hype is just because we werent prepared for all this water, If we had better washouts and a pretty irragational system we probably wouldnt have a full quarter of our state closed off right now. Evergreen nobody gets in and is HIGHLY recommended and advised you stay in your homes.

    And they were still open? I think I would have closed had there been an inch of water on the ground.

    We don't get this kind of rain normally so spending a ton of money on these huge irrigation systems that we'd maybe need someday would be pointless. Things happen.

    No it happened slowly and by the time anyone realized it was coming down a ton so almost a flash flood that came on slow but hit QUICK all the sudden.

    Everything was closed in evergreen as soon as the water came up to your ankle.

    There's no state in the union prepared for its almost annual rain fall in 48 hours. That's why its called a natural disaster, the only thing you can do to prepare is pay attention and leave when asked.

    Our average here is 10.34 " annually (which is desert by your standards) But one March we got a little over 11", So yeah thats over the annual by at least a 3rd thats alot for us... Hopefully you'll get a break soon...

    Evergreen dam is so close to breaking, Local bar is completely flooded, waters at speeds of probably... 15-20mph? Roads completely washed out in clear creek, level 1 evac in bear creek... National guards posted and sandbagging the shit out of creeks!

    States that see rain constantly like Seattle or Michigan are way better prepared for it then we are, we can never be Fully prepared and able to completely divert disaster but we definitely are FAR less prepared then anyone else.

    No state is really prepared for a natural disaster! I mean you should have a weeks worth of food for an emergency thing considering it takes rescuers a good 24 hours before they can get in to help people out
