Any of you guys have experience with studded Arctic Claw tires? I found a set at a good price and thinking about picking them up for the winter. Never had dedicated snow tires or studded tires before. They're not rated great against other dedicated snow tires but I've gotta believe they're better than running H/T tires

 

I've had general Altimax arctic studded and they were the shit lol. Amazing on ice. Believe it or not new studs less are better than studded ones.

I had those on Kendra's car last winter and she seemed to really like them. Unfortunately, I found a deal on the Arctic Claws though and they're already studded. They're made by Cooper which makes me a little nervous (haven't had the best of luck with Cooper over the last few years) but I've always heard that even a mediocre dedicated snow tire will outperform a good all-season tire (and I'm sure there are exceptions).

 

Over compensation, classic signs you could be ghey. But, enjoyable pics.

For my wife I've found that a good all season and AWD is a solid combination for budget and safety.

 

The tires I'm looking at would be for my truck. Kendra's car is FWD and will also have studded snows (they're actually in the garage just waiting for snow flakes to fly).

I found a set of 4 studded snows, mounted and ready to go. I pretty much already committed to them, couldn't really go wrong for the price. We'll see how they do. They're 245/75R16 so a studded skinny winter tire should do well on the road.
