Agreed, they have been dialing that setup for years. I have a set of link killer bypasses on my linked truck ha. Previous owner realized there is no such thing as a "link killer" ha

Huge comp tube, bigger bump zone...what's not to love?
As long as the dumbass valving it (cough Giant cough cough) doesn't put in a stack of .020 shims on comp and .012 on rebound for a leaf sprung Tacoma....it's a great all in one package!

3.0 is overkill on any leafsprung truck rear end. Just run a 2.5 triple bypass and its plenty. Even when Im racing in the truck for 7+ hours, I never got shock fade with 2.5's (unless I blew a seal or something of course)
Id focus on correct valving with a 2.5 triple bypass instead of over paying for a 3.0

The king shocks are 2 tube and the radflos are 1 tube. The kings are 2.5 and the radflo are 3.0...

Bigger is always better, but out of these options, I would suggest the bypass.
With the bypass you are able to fine tune the shock.

I got the link killer setup. The shocks I received were also one big compression tube. In fact I recently sold them. 3.0 is overkill, you can stick with 2.5

I have one complaint on the link killer setup and that is when the spring compresses, one of the U brackets holding the leaf pack together rubs on the shackle mount. mjp2 has the same setup as me and his does the same thing. It is a design flaw. I got my kit a while ago, so maybe Geoff has corrected that by now. Other than that, all the hardware that comes with it is solid

That's a problem with Giant's 64" LT Taco leaf spring kit, nothing specific to the Link Killers (which are exclusively just the shocks).

And triples are a waste with leaf springs. Why would you want to bypass shock valving near bump? Most people will just end up closing the second comp tube completely.

I can not wait for the day to be out testing in our truck and a couple local vegas linked trucks that love to talk big happen to show up at the same time!!! Will be pretty fun passing them in the rough with leafs!

For a race truck, we can agree to disagree... LOL, I'll happily stick with the 3.0's front and back...

    Not on ours... 1:27-1:46 & 6:40-7:00

I should have quantified my statement. MOST people on here (TW) won't take advantage of it and it would just be an additional cost. Little bit of a difference when dealing with a race truck.

I like how the race truck has Poly bumps out back! :D and you can see when the last few inches of travel at bump hit that bump zone and slow down.

Ah, you're right. I bought it so long ago, I thought it was the "kit". I do remember now, the link killers are specifically the shocks. Regardless, I did have those and it was one long single tube bypass.

Another thing to think about is how the bypass tubes are laid out on the shock body. On a set of king Triples you normally have one long comp tube that most of the shock body and one short one at the top. On My Fox triples Its two longer tube that travel up the body and are offset by a few inches. My highest tube stops at the top about 4" from max bump.

Funny part is that video is shot the 3rd or 4th time the truck touched dirt. 1st time was just a generic shake down run to see what would fall off or what I royally screwed up, 2nd run was a paid shock tuning session, then this video stuff...

Since then, I've actually put on a secondary poly bump to 100% stop the up travel just in case the pyramid style ones slip/crack/fail. I also built them so that if we ever wanted to step up to a hydro bump we can simply slide one right in. They're positioned for a king bump.

If you've got the money to spend, go for it.
Bang for buck, with the caveat that nearly everyone is building on their street trucks, not gonna notice a bit of difference between a 2 tube and 3 tube except $200 less in your wallet.

LOL, and just cause... here's my hooptie's rear end working. I need to speed up the rebound... I haven't put a ton of work into the valving on it. I'm waiting till the rest of the truck is built to handle it's potential and then I'll work on valving. Those upgrades are likely to start rolling next week if the rest of this week goes as planned! Yes, my truck is for sale and yes, I'm still making improvements eventhough it's for sale!

This is not the same section the race truck video is in... This is a spot near my house I screw around on. There were other vehicles out there this day which is why I'm slowly cresting the hills off the main line, blind head on hits are not my idea of fun.

But your truck would be even faster with links.... that was my point

Well setup and well valved links will beat well setup and well valved leafs 100% of the time no matter what.
