I am contemplating replacing my rear bumper with an aftermarket one that is primed so that I can paint it to match the truck OR removing and sandblasting the chrome portion of the existing bumper and having it painted. Has anyone ever sandblasted the chrome off of a bumper? Is it doable or too difficult? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ken

Very easy to blast the. Simply use self etching primer before painting, you can check with a chrome shop too they can chemically remove the chrome in minutes in one of their tanks. When they re chrome items they strip them first.

Thanks Evenflow. Man, I think that was the fastest response I have ever received for a new thread! You may have set some kind of record!
There are not a lot of metal finishing shops near me, so I will probably just bust out my portable sanblaster and a 33 gallon air compressor and try to tackle it in the back yard one day. Does the chrome need to be all the way removed or basically just "etched"?
    Thanks again,
    Ken
