    I'm trying to decide if I want the nikkor 50 f1.8D or G. I don't mind manually focusing, but I still don't know which one is better.

    this and that...
    my initial test shot from the beast. i have to say. this lens is worth every penny of its price tag. with that being said, i now know why i see pros walking around with a monopod attached to this lens LOL. shit is heavy; a whopping 6lbs! i can just imagine shooting with this guy all day! im a pretty big dude and even i was like "wow, this thing has some weight to it". superb lens though, no doubt about it.

    Well I currently have a D70. I plan on getting the D800 or D600 in the future. Probably the 600. I'm just getting a list and saving up. So everything I'm talking about will be for my next camera, not my current one.

    D800 RAWs are around range between 50-70 MB. I probably had about 500-600 GB of photos last year (a little over 10,000 shutter actuations)

    I've got a expandable Drobo hard drive array that I use to store all of my files, plus its got redundancy built in.
