Interesting stuff. I think Mark hit a lot of the bases on the issues those systems can have. Like the democratic one being too slow to react for a capitalist market... look at the way the military is setup. You start out at bottom and work your way up. Every time you get promoted you get more pay but also more responsibility. Most things are somewhat democratic but ultimately the decision always come down to the person in charge. This allows the military too make changes on the spot almost instantaneously. There is also lots of incentive to improve yourself so you can get promoted.

Meanwhile instead of people trying to improve themselves and find better work, they are just going on strike and demanding minimum wage be raised to $15/hr... That kind of leads me to the bread place. Seems like there is no incentive to improve. Almost communist like. That's the problem with Communism is that if everyone makes the same money why go to 12 years of school to be a doctor when you can just be a security guard or stock shelves at a grocery store. For now I think the bread store works because they are the only ones operating like that so the pay is probably good compared to other places but if everyone operated like that we might have a shortage of college educated people due to the lack of incentive to go if you won't make more money and will just have a harder job.

well i also went out and got hammered last night Ladies night at one of our bars and they also had specials on margaritas so there i was only i was with a bunch of girls i was the only dude. not that ment anything i still only went home with my girlfriend.. coffee is extra good to me this morning.

No there is lots of incentive. YOur not guaranteed anything still. You still have to work and put in hours too get your share. YOu still have a boss that still does overview and still does performance review. Think of how easy it would be to find someone to replace you at that job with that kinda of payment. YOu damn well better work hard there or boom..gone and replaced easily.

Im not saying we need to be communist. And i don't think its a communist way of doing things, its more Socialist. Which due to media and shit the last few years(largly induced by..yes..the big corps..) has be deemed just as bad as communist to the general public. When really..if you read the Constitution..i kinda lays out towards Socialism..haha

What you would get though is people that just want to be a doctor..or a security guard..because they want to. Not because it makes them lots of money. Which yes can be problematic and dangerous..especially when corps take advantage of peoples love for something..

In the movie they used pilots as an example. Pilots used ot be paid a lot. 6 figures usually. Now..a lot are making 20k or so. Why? because airliners have slashed prices and people and everything to make it more affordable for the common man to fly. Yay..but really? 20k for a flying a commercial plane? jesus..haha what a rip off. Most have huge debts around 100k to pay off..on that kinda pay? ya right. Most the people interviewed said they only do it cause they love flying, and the companies take advantage of that.

Also since you mentioned doctors, our heath care system is depressing. Its so expensive that unless you can afford health insurance you usually can't afford it. Jobs don't offer it hardly anymore as a benifit. And even then with insurance, its still too expensive.

Which also brings up the "Dead Peasant" idea that many large corps even do..which is betting on thier workers lives and taking out huge life insurance polocies on their employes and hoping they die to collect a few easy million. Sounds unreal right??? Its not.. they do it..a lot. sad really.

Brady you should watch the movie too. Everyone watch it so they know more what im talking about I feel like im doing a horrible job explaining it..and i am as im not an expert on ANY of this.

Its in our nature and although some of us can overcome our nature in certain aspects there is no way to stop others and since there are so many of us, well there is nothing we can do. So many good ideas, but the whole free will and people not being able to adhere to something not in their nature or moral scope of life. But we do alright. Look at us, having fun and making the best of what we got. Thats the best part about our nature. Crazy to think there are so many of us with different views, but still friends because we have it in our nature to overcome that and live in harmony, even go out of our way to see one another. Its humanity at its best.

 

My buddy Troco on here is a Falconer, although he does other birds too. I just like the kill screetch the falcons emit when diving haha.
