It's a little easier once the items in your tranny have burnished and such,

My old manual was shifting a lot smoother at 20K than it did at 2K miles.

I once had to limp my sisters old 89 Turbo Supra home, a 45min drive w/out a clutch. It was wild coming to stop lights, lol... car off, get into 1st, hit the starter and get ready for launch. But I got it home, then got to replace the master cylinder. lol...

 

Yeah I blew the clutch slave in my ws6 and drove it home with no clutch too. Burned the starter that way too. I rebuilt the whole thing after that anyways

That is why I jumped out of the 05 AC when I found the 08 RC. I wanted a RC the whole time but not the bench. Was lucky to nab the 08 RC prerunner SR5 with buckets. 08 was last yr for that.

Looks great. Wanting to move the passenger seat forward for a sub or just more storage? Where are you getting the TRD seats from?

 

Yup,

The more powerful the engine the harder I think it is to drive one w/out a working clutch, it's really easy in a Civic, lol... Smaller engine=smaller tranny,

Especially when it comes to having to jerk it out of gear and rev the engine up and hold against the lower gear and wait for it to pop in,

 

Anybody know what a fair price would be for a brake job?

Are you doing the work or paying someone to do it?
Good set of Akebono pads will run around $60-80, turning the rotors if you take em to a shop to have them do it normally around $10-20, thats if you know the guys. And thats just the front brakes and if you do the labor. Not sure how much OEM Toyota pads run for, but Akebono is top of the line.

So figure parts will be about $80-100 after they mark it up plus about an hours worth of labor which could be 70-115/hr.
Anything less than $180 would be pretty decent and fair

You should just buy another truck so you can lower one and lift the other.. haha

 

if you factor all the time and expense wasted on your truck goin up then down then up, flares off then on you would be half way towards a used 5lug.
