I just left morgans tire everyone around says he is always cheaper than online prices a buddy just got a quote a week ago from him and it was $50 cheaper a tire for summer tires.

I got a quote on the bfg ko and the goodyear duratrac and he told me $270 a piece I want a good tire but holy crap I cant afford over $1000 for just tires. Where r u guys ordering your tires from. What is a cheaper really good performing tire?

    Thanks Guys

Tirerack.com has the BFG KO's for 220-231 depending on Load Range. Duratracs are 210. Print out the prices from Tirerack and bring it in to Discount/Americas Tires and they will price match it.

Also the Firestone Destination M/T are 203.

I got mine for $120/tire, used this site to price match at a local store and didn't pay for shipping. I got 265/70/17, 285's are going to be more.

Nitto TG comes in 'P' rated along with D and E rated. The ones without LT in front of the size # are P rated.
    Example: 265/70/17 = P rated
    LT265/70/17D (or E)

The load ratings refer the the max load the tire can handle, P rated is about 2469lbs, D is 3000lbs and E rated is 3415lbs. The stock dunlops that were on my truck were rated for 2039lbs, so I went with P rated Nitto TG which are rated more then the stockers. The higher the load rating the stiffer the tire is and that affects ride quality. If you don't tow a lot or do major offroading over jagged rocks or branches then you will be fine with a P rated Nitto TG, if you want a more durable tire for offroading then go with a D rated, don't go with an E rated or your ride quality will suffer.
