A buddy of mine had a Spirit when we were kids. Same yellow color and the 6 banger. I didn't love working on that engine sometimes in his with the room but that car got him through 3 years of school pretty easy.

An old girlfriend's mother had a Concord and an Eagle..

No serious rust on this one, only surface rust. Vehicles only rust because some people are too lazy to keep them clean.

They look way better than econoboxes of today, like the Prius for example. Nice Plymouth.

Wasnt able to drive it Monday because I had to order parts. A petronics electronic ignition conversion kit. Definitely want to do away with the antiquated points ignition.

I've like petronics conversions, inexpensive and reliable.

Nope, unfortunately I believe the engine is shot. Car wasn't getting spark and I peered into the distributor hole and saw that the distributor gear wasn't turning while the car turned over.

Ah well, I have an uncle who is going to give me a 1985 Chevrolet Citation with only 87k on the clock and I know the car runs and drives, drove it before. Has the 4 banger so will probably get better mileage than the Gremlin. It has 4 doors so will suit me and my dogs better for sure. Really too bad the Gremlin didn't work out, I really like those ugly little turds lol but such is life.

Well that's a bummer, if it were my cat I'd drop a little 4cyl diesel in there.

Well, here it is. Drove it straight from my uncle's shop to home since it isn't insured, started right up despite having sat all summer. Going to get it insured and start driving it next week, allegedly this car is supposed to get 35mpg city and 40 highway so can't say no to that. Is the 2.5 Iron Duke 4 banger and automatic transmission.

EPA says 21 city/29 highway, 35/40 might be a little wishful. A few hypermiling techniques could get you there. ;)

Actually the Citation has 76k on the odometer so about the same as the Gremlin ironically. Think I will like this car better, front wheel drive and 4 doors for easy access to the backseat and more room for the dog.

It is already running and driveable. Going to hopefully get it licensed and insured today.
