    That one is nice too. And honestly like I told Tony, I mainly want a 200mm/300mm lens for the moon so if yours turn out that well and I'm sure more tweaking can be done to make it more better, I could live with that. I just wish Tony would chime in here to see what he thinks.

    When I was looking at the 70-200 2.8 the owner of the shop told me if I didn't want to spend that much I could look at the 80-200 2.8 cause the price dropped dramatically on that one. It also doesn't have the silent wave motor so it doesn't focus as fast as the 70-200. Like almost in half in cost used.

    I just saw the 80-200 2.8 new was only $999, I wouldn't buy that V one with only 300 more for a new one.

    I want this^
    Great balance of weight, cost, image quality, performance, and that new VR is a nice bonus. I really want this lens but just don't want to give up 150mm since I have a crop sensor. Mayhaps, someday I'll rent it and see what I think.

    I might consider it. I know that 70-200 is worth the money, but $590 sounds a lot better than $1400. Lol

    These aren't very good, but I am going to try again this weekend when I have more time to get it right. Right now I need to get some sleep. I have to be up in 7ish hours.

    This weekend I will try to remember to get out and play with my settings more and try a few more times. But this lens is 1.)soft at 300 and 2.) a variable aperture.
    I really like the range, but it leaves a lot to be desired in the speed/image quality when conditions are less than perfect.

    Perhaps someday I'll be able to afford that 70-200 as well as the 300 f/4 :) (not likely)

    Hmmm, they look pretty good. Now to see those cropped to see the details in the quality. Other than that, it looks good to me.

    Well so far, the 70-200 f4 is my best bet so far.. Gosh I don't want to spend $1400 for something for good moon shots.. Lol

    Edit: Unless Chaz can get better shots this weekend to convince me that lens is good enough for me :spy:

    So I offered 450 on the tamron 10-22 and canon usm 50mm and he said that was too low(obviously) but said he would take 550..pretty good deal...tempting...
