Ive noticed through training that I have developed the mind muscle connection. I remember it started with fly's and was wondering if I was using the right muscles. I cannot do that on compound lifts though. Squats are the worst for sure. I just pray before I drop down that the rep will be decent:rolleyes:
I usually throw in my biceps after back as well. Good info thanks! Ill have to use that flex thing, that might make things a little more efficient. And honestly, I have no idea how to flex my lats. Never understood them:eek:

    Thank you zach!

But yes, always... always... always flex... I flex after every time I do a lift or push... It puts my mind in that muscle, it stretches the fibers, and puts blood in the muscle... I may look like a tool but im getting the most out of my workouts..

    str8 flexn bro ;)

i need some advice on something for recovery (supplements, foods, vitamins, whatever) cause i'm dying. i lift 3-4 days a week, run 4 miles 3-4 days a week, and i just made the university club soccer team. i'm mainly sore because of the sprinting at soccer practice. and before you jump in and say i'm over-training, i'm not. i'm just old and out of shape and not getting enough sleep. but i'm trying to drink a shit-ton of water. so.....what do i need to intake for recovery?

so you run 4 miles every day and you lift before or after? Sleep should be first on your agenda. If you can't sleep your t levels wont replenish, HGH is stopped, and your tissue wont heal. Water wise shoot for a gallon. But really SLEEP! Also try and split your workouts (lift in the am, run in the pm or vice versa)... also buy doing ALL of that your body might be in a calorie deficit. After a lifting session your body burns calories for more than 6 hours (its too early for me to remember the specific time). And a 4 mile run, Jesus shoot me, you need to be eating soooo much... How much do you eat, calorie wise?

buddy has the same problem... don't neglect it. Always warm up and do a dynamic stretch before you train your upper body.

My suggestion, train it, but keep it light. If light weight is a problem, ya dun fuked it up and go get it looked at.

1st, I'd say protein. I always get in about 25-40 grams after any workout. After exercise, your muscles are broken down and protein builds them back up. Try to get at least 1g of protein per lb of body weight throughout the day.

2nd, you need to replenish glycogen. Glycogen is a carb stored in your muscles that gets depleted when you exercise. To replenish glycogen, add carbs in with your post-workout protein.

    Ex. protein shake and oatmael
    chicken and brown rice
whole wheat pasta w/ ground turkey beef
any Subway sandwich with meat on wheat bread

You'll be feeling like a champ in no time

Haha I love Subway. Where I live, the only fast-food options are Pizza Hut, KFC/Taco Bell, BK, McDonald's, or Subway haha. I really love Firehouse, but it's like 20 miles away. I eat Subway at least twice a week.

Shoulder injuries are the worst. I avoid them by just dangling and twirling from the pull-up bar for about 5 mins before any upper body workout. I look stupid, but it gets everything in the shoulders loose and ready to go!

Heard that. I'm not opposed to a little fasst-food every now and then. I've been bulking for the past 3 months (bulking in the summer time...I know, retarded). But, I'm starting cutting Monday. 3 months of no alcohol and 100% cleaning eating. Trying to get from about 12% bf to 8-9%. It's gonna be a blast:(
