    My brother wrote this,

Actually I was wrong on the amperage of the system. That was at 12 volts. The alternator charges at 15.1 volts so the system running at RMS not max power would pull 278 amps.
The 270 amp alternator is the biggest one mechman makes in the stock housing.
The batteries are a reserve of energy for the system because the mojo x's put a lot of strain on the power system. ( so when the subs hit the batteries allow the amps to receive a constant voltage and keeps them running cooler.)
The RMS is 4200 watts between the three amps
4480/15.1 = 296.68 amps including the trucks draw while runnung (lights, ac, computer)
So if anything it would require a larger alternator but under normally daily driving conditions it charges perfectly . Because its only turned up all the way for demos in the shop and stuff like that
And too large of an alternator isn't overkill it will just help keep the voltage stable under high loads

Lmao, you put 4480 watts in a single cab. You're a committed SOB. And yes I get what you mean by going to big isn overkill but looking in terms of life expectancy of tighter spun alts vs needed amperage needs to be considered. In your case you need an A/C port to tie into land power.

Life expectancy isn't an issue, he is sponsered and gets them for free

That's great logic. Lets put it this way, most of us are not sponsered

Here's mine. I've read this thread countless times for ideas/pics so I thought I could give back a little bit :)

    JL XD700/5
JL 6.5 C2-650 (Front speakers only. Running bridge, I think this is a tad too much power for these so I might upgrade)
    Pioneer 12" Shallow
    Pioneer 5500BHS HU

Bought a cutting board for $2 at wally and melted into Tweeter's holder. Works well :) I'm a man without tools... haha

Very novice so it took me over 40hrs total to rip everything apart, mat up the entire car. But well worth it since I drive quite a bit for work and the sound is 1000% better than stock!

Finished my front stage in the taco today. Focal 165 wrc with the utopia 3w2be 3" mid added into the mix. Tried the wrc 2 way in stock locations first, then broke down and decided to just fabricate some a pillar pods. I am running full active and will post some more pics of the amps/sub/processor once I finish up the back end. ede2unu2_7adf60a0fc2b00ad99a6e392bdcb7f160726babd.jpgemedazag_ff8bb681ddb2bc9edbff62cd39f44b70ed1a84f2.jpgy8e6e9e8_3fe0ce44d927bd3d8342803ca4870f41054bbc25.jpgugu6e8ej_d339823949ac14c1cab271a831ce39ddb09acc90.jpg
