Sounds to me like some people need to realize what they really own and drive them accordingly... LOL It's a lot more enjoyable that way.

If either of my rigs break I have another ride to get me to work on Monday but point being, I drive them within my limits so I don't have to worry about that.

Now granted, for building up the trucks, I don't know how you can actually be in this hobby without a 2nd ride. It took me 8 weeks to take my exploder from 100% stock to what's pictured above. I DD'd the yota for those 8 weeks. That got old fast cause of the comfort factor.

Yeah, but if you've got a bolt on suspension system and a bolt in coilovers you should probably drive it accordingly. Where as if you have a TT, you should probably drive that accordingly. If you drive past that and break stuff... I'm gonna say you're doing it wrong...

I've got those three trucks in my driveway. All three of them are driven differently cause they're all built to different levels and capabilities with the race truck being driven the hardest of the 3. It was also built to be driven considering the amount of support I added to it.

    100_0803_752e208a68ad8bafc4c42173c621d937d940a38a.jpg

If anyone with a bolt on front suspension and a bolt in coilover is out there trying to push their front end as hard as we do, and they break something, well... I'm just gonna look at them and shake my head in disbelief.

Is that rocket science and hard to understand? Or is it just pure luck that in the 20 years I've been driving my vehicles to the desert, playing with them and driving them home that I've never ever once been on a trailer home? Maybe I'm just the luckiest person in the world cause I know darn well none of my rides are trophy trucks. I guess maybe the difference is to have fun, I don't have to use my toys beyond their capability...

He's saying if we learn to drive our trucks within their respective boundaries, we shouldn't worry about needing a dedicated DD because our trucks shouldn't break without driver error. Thus, when people are considering buying a DD, they should consider either driving more conservatively and save money on a DD and repairs, or keep ballsing out and wreck and fix and need a DD.

Yeah, exactly... If I have a trailered rig I'm gonna drive it different then if I've got a non trailered rig and a backup ride and I'm gonna drive both of those differently then if I'm out playing with my only ride. But saying you can't have a linked DD makes no sense... Just make sure you drive it knowing it's your only ride. Simple as that. Being worried about wadding up your only ride shouldn't be a concern cause you should drive it accordingly yet it seems like people don't. I guess I don't understand that.

Shit happens and things break but honestly, ask yourself out of all the times you've broke something, how many happened cause you realistically were over driving your ride vs. using it within it's limits and it just broke. Like I said, maybe I should knock on wood cause I'm just the luckiest dude on earth or something.

Actually I'm saying you can and you probably won't have any issues with it cause that wouldn't be driving it beyond it's capabiliities.

Drive your ride however you want... I'll go back to not worrying about breaking my rides even though I have spares if I do.

I tried entering my truck in an autocross and pro solo event. They said no, that my truck is too high and too dangerous in a rollover....even though they knew I had a full roll cage and everything.

Apparently rollovers in road races are frowned upon and usually means the car is done for the remainder of the race.
